Why are democrats still obsessed with Trump to this day?

We see democrats still talk about this guy 2 years into Biden's presidency and very little discussion or topics are made about Biden's policies and how they relate to america Hell, if you have to obsess over republicans why not speak about those more prominent in the news like Ron Desantis and Abbot instead of Trump.

Why are democrats still obsessed with Trump to this day?

What is up with democrats and their obsession with this guy? Why do so many of them stalk his family members and post their whereabouts on social media websites?

For example, I recently saw redditors secretly recording Donald Trump Jr. on a plane then updating everyone in the subreddit of what he was doing. This was going on r/politics. You would never see conservatives doing weird shit like this.

Instead of getting too defensive, I want to ask you if you really think you’re being fair. I’m not sure how well versed in politics you are, but it’s pretty common for people to want to hold others accountable for things they don’t agree with. Not only that, but Republicans are still talking about election fraud that has yet to be actually proven. I’ve literally listened to podcasts where republican public officials who know election fraud didn’t happen are *still* having to confront an aggressive onslaught of republican voters who still believe this, despite the fact that it has literally never been proven. And to go a bit further, Republicans are also still obsessed with Trump. Again, I’m not sure how closely you follow politics, but I do. Trump is still wildly popular among Republicans. Republicans who debt the election fraud myth or who don’t align themselves with Trump quite literally put their careers at risk because Republican voters are so loyal to Trump that these politicians often lose those elections. And let’s not even get into how Trump tapped into Republican discontent by talking about Obama’s leadership and his presidency.

So, again I ask about whether or not this is a fair question.

Republicans are often obsessed with talking about Democrat leaders they don’t like, especially to get elected. Republicans are still obsessed with Trump. Republicans are still upset about election fraud and punishing sensible Republican leaders who don’t tell them what they want to hear. If Republicans are often obsessed with Democrats and Trump, why is it a problem for Democrats to do the same thing?

Well, Biden is a disaster. The whole democrat thing we got now is a disaster. First of all I'd say they try to divert attention (kinda like a magician) from their own disasters by constantly trying to show people how bad Trump is.

Second it's kinda like they have really nothing else. What should they brag about? What have they done that they can say "looka-here everyone: Biden just did this"!!! I mean it's kinda impressive how he turned everything into shit in record time, but nobody is impressed with that.

So - again - they have to say "oh look at Trump " and basically that's what the whole election was too. "orange man bad" was really all they had

Even democrats be like "oh I vote/voted for Biden cuz I hate Trump" and I'm like "what?"

Good news is he's really low in polls like in the 30's or so. Funny thing is even the hordes of people he's letting across the border hoping for votes polls show they'll vote red

I never understand this argument. It’s not like Trump quietly disappeared to the North Pole. It’s not like he doesn’t constantly tease himself as the Republican candidate for 2024. It’s not like he doesn’t constantly weigh in on current events trying to tell us how bad Biden is and how much better it would have been with him. It’s not like he deaded the stolen election talk. It’s not like he didn’t create his own social media site to continue his crazy rants and tantrums after Twitter booted him. It’s not like he isn’t the center of multiple criminal and civil lawsuits and investigations. It’s not like he doesn’t still have his MAGA rallies. It’s certainly not like his supporters have shut up about him. He hasn’t AT ALL gone away, even a little bit, so why would anyone NOT talk about him?

It's probably that even though he was never a career politician he was more effective as Prestident than a career politician, If you look what he said he would do upon taking office he managed to get 75% of it done despite the democrat machine throwing every roadblock they could in his way.
And a say this as someone who doesn't live in the US and I detest Trump as a person.

You think you wouldn't? Have you forgotten what Obama's presidency was like? Conservatives HATED that guy. And not because of his open alliance with hate movements or his treating the Constitution like toilet paper or even mildly controversial appointments and policies, either. Of course, that ENDED when he left office; fair enough if THAT'S what you meant.

But the hatred of Trump runs deeper. It's not because he's very conservative; he's easily the liberal Republican presidential candidate of my lifetime. It's because he's an outsider- someone from outside the political machine who capitalized on public resentment and distrust of that machine to catapult himself into the White House. This ENRAGES the establishment politicians he edged out, and they've passed word down to their followers and their spin experts, and most importantly their media contacts, that Donald Trump is to be demonized like no one's ever been demonized before. Because his presidency was such a slap in the face to their entire world view that it's still "traumatizing" to them. They've grown up, coddled, assured of their moral superiority and assured victory, that it was devastating that not only are there people who would think differently than them, but that these people would actually win nationally.

He wasn't entertaining as president, and just boring. He rambled and repeated himself, and constantly couldn't stick to a decision.

As president we had to pay attention to him, because he had some say in polices, but at this point i have no reason to care or think about him.

I feel with the upcoming midterms the people who voted for the Democrats are now leaning towards the independent party due to ongoing issues like inflation, an upcoming recession and energy prices going up 75% but instead of focusing on current issues at hand they do nothing but finger point (both parties). Long story short is the Democrats are feeling pressure even from their own party (younger democrats) who are starting to steer away from the toxic ones like Nancy Pelosi in fear of The Republican party taking over the house.
