How long do you normally wait to reply to a message?

I’m tragically just not much a phone person because when i grew up i just didn’t have many people reach out to me. in fact in HS i’d go days without getting any text messages so now i’m just not that attached to it other than for watching tiktok or youtube when i’m bored at work. Also i have ADHD so when i do get a message my response time can take a while

Personally I don't wait I just reply unless I'm in class or playing a video game that's online it might take a little bit longer to reply lol

Depends on many factors. There are times I literally postpone it because I would be something else at that moment and then I completely forget.

It depends on the type of message and the person sending.

Anyone close to my heart get an immediate message when I see the notification.

Anyone having an emergency gets a reply asap.

Friends with non-urgent IM probably get a holler as soon as I get through the work day.

Anyone annoying or requiring focused concentration to address… sits in the “unread” area for a short while but are usually addressed within a 72hr period.

I am not that foolish to text anyone. I have messaging disabled on my phone, so people have to communicate in a civilised fashion.

I’m pretty bad at answering right away unless I’m already on my phone and I see it. I don’t live by my phone and if I pick it up, it’s probably a work thing or to google something stupid.

It often takes me a while to read them. I'm not at beckoned call. Important people have their own tone. (Not as pompous as it sounds just refuse to be tied to a phone)
