How long should I wait to get a response?

Hey getting and finding jobs have been really difficult lately I did an interview for a job role as nursery assistant and I am still yet waiting to hear back from the company the person who did my interview wasn’t actually the manager she was the deputy they noted down all my responses and told me that they will speak to the manager and than let me know. I have given them 5+ working days now it’s almost been a week and no response.

I did message them just to ask about the interview they than told me they were busy with interviews and they will let me know I just wish they had actually explained that to me after the interview instead of saying they will let the manager know because I miss understood their meaning and assuming they will me let me know that week. I checked in again today asking for an update and still I got no response at all.

I am not being funny I know it can take a max of 2 weeks to get a response back but I just do not have that time to sit here and wait it’s wasting my valuable time I did let them know I am available to work immediately! Other people interview is not my problem I just am expecting an update on how mine went if they interviewed people before and after me by now they would know if I am suitable for the role just feels like it is being stretched to wait and I have the right mind to just message back saying “Hey just to inform you I am no longer interested in this job role thank you for giving me the chance for an interview”

pointless to wait and better to move on! I don’t know what I should do because I don’t want to be rude but it’s annoying.

Wait a week, if you haven’t heard anything, move on. Unless you signed a legal document saying you’re not going to apply for other jobs while waiting for their response, there’s nothing stopping you from continuing to apply even after a good interview.

A week will be tommorow but yeah if I don’t hear anything back than I guess I will move on I have messaged to ask them what the update was todays don’t they haven’t responded

They won’t because I just checked the job now and it said that it’s expired now the job role has expired and I still haven’t heard anything back yeah I’m not waiting sorry it’s been a week

Well it's not how the hiring works. They'll conduct the interview for all the shortlisted candidates.
However, I do agree they shouldn't make one wait for so long.
My suggestion to you is, it takes anywhere between 7-10 days to get hired anywhere and even more.
So why are you waiting to hear from them? You should apply elsewhere and appear in interviews by the time. That way you might even end up getting multiple offer letters and you could choose the best one out of them.

I am applying to jobs wether they say yes or no to me it’s just annoying that a whole week they been interviewing people and nothing but it will be a week tomorrow
