How long do you usually wait before replying to a text?

Do you purposely wait? If you do why? Or do you usually reply instantly? Or does it depend? Depends on closeness/how intersting the convo is etc...

I don't wait just for the sake of waiting and "looking less desperate", that's childish. Unless I'm super busy with something, there's no reason for me to not reply immediately. I don't have time to just wait around. If I'm into a guy then I'll show him I'm into him. I don't get why people have to act all busy, nonchalant and indifferent. That's how you get a person to NOT like you. If you act disinterested or like you're too busy to even hold a casual conversation, then the person who's trying to reach you will definitely try to find someone who's more available, at some point.
The thing I hate the most is when I'm with a guy and they're glued to their phone. Constantly fiddling around with it. Like they can't even put it down for an hour without checking it at least 5 times. And then when you try to reach him, it takes him fucking 6 hours to get back to you. That's bullshit. I don't want to be like that.

I'd reply immediately when I received the message. However, if I'm not in the mood to talk and I sense that the tone of a person's text is an argumentative tone or if the person is just arguing over something stupid or just ranting/complaining, I wouldn't bother to reply, until I've calmed down or I'm back in the mood to text.

If they take a long time to answer, then so will I. Although it can be hard to wait, because I hate to keep people waiting, I think it rude :P But if I reply too quickly, then they might get the wrong idea, so I'll find something to distract myself if need be.

It depends on the content of their message, but generally speaking, the whole point of text messages etc is that they don't require an immediate response - if you want an actual conversation, then call me - don't just text!

I reply whenever I see the message. If we're having a conversation, I will answer right away... unless I have no idea what to say, haha. Then it may take a while for me to reply.

It depends entirely on who I'm texting. If it's a friend I'll reply instantly but if it's a crush then I might take longer to make sure my reply is extra good ^_^

I answer as soon as I see it. If I'm extremely busy and I know I can't answer within a half hour, I'll text at least "sorry, working, talk later after X o'clock"
