How likely is it that medical science will one day in the far future start artificially creating new people?

because medical science already has invitro fertilization so once they figure out how to make an artificial womb. they could almost take traditional reproduction out of the equation since there is already a number of people who donate or freeze their genetic material. so they could just start using those samples in the to artificially create new life. all while claiming it's to help fight the declining fertility and birth rates.

but once they unlock genetic manipulation they might begin building people how they see fit. which could likely result in the future generations being submissive and controlled by the wealthy elites. while being unable to reproduce on their own and having limited or no free will. all while claiming it's to reduce birth defects, illness, etc.

yes I know this all sounds like something out of science fiction but it could happen one day in the future.

I can confidently say the chances of that are zero percent without a time machine. Because they already have- the tech, while VERY unrefined, has been present for several years now. As it stands, the law only lets you expand a zygote to the second or third cell division, but there's no physical reason it couldn't go beyond that.

This is a stupid idea. Mostly because we can already do that and we could already have done something similar a long time ago. If that was their plan then we would not be here today talking about hypotheticals that never seam to materialize.

Does anyone really believe that a human has not been cloned already? I bet Bill Gates or some other rich guy had himself cloned for use as spare parts.

currently cloning someone would just make the clone a empty shell since they likely can't copy memories. that being said if they harvested the clone for working organs then that is more likely to happen.
