It was a fairly vast timeline and sort of shows a world post Armageddon to recovering.
Fall of Rome sort of starts the ball rolling, bang in to the Dark Ages , aka Middle Ages aka medieval times.
it was a time of serfs, feudalism, anarchy, countries becoming nations, start of empires for some, the start of the fall for some.
it’s a vast period of time, covering constant warfare, Black Death, discovery, invasions by pretty much everyone.
the death toll is fairly horrendous from wars, plagues, famine, etc.
The world did advance though, trade routes brought in new ideas, translations of Ancient Greek helped bring in modern medicine or at least pave the way for it.
Inventions, architecture, weapons, agriculture, manufacturing, guilds etc all have they routes here.
It was also the start for some countries down the road to actual democracy, Magna Carta and Parliament.
It was a time that shaped the world or put in to place, the pieces that would in turn shape the modern world.
In the absence of plauge and war it was probably nicer than most people think.
Lots of feast days, and a much less brutal work schedule. The some of the comforts were lacking, but nothing that a crafty time traveler couldn't improvise in the field.
Mass deaths from dangerous diseases swept the land, peasants being downtrodden by the rich and powerful, superstitious nonsense peddled as science, religious nutjobs forcing their beliefs on others. Unsafe to walk the streets at night without an armed guard.
Bit like modern day America really.

It is romanticized a lot.
There were horrible things happening.
The architecture is beautiful and the fashion was much better.
But the way the people lived and the laws that were still in effect were insane.
The Fall of Rome devastating as is the Fall of USA that is happening before our eyes. Muslim invades Crusades Magna Carta... one big party.
It was more advanced in some ways than we might think. They were pretty good about taking care of the indigent, for example.
beyond frightening and awful. frankly, like watching a nature program... but worse.
Horrible time to live, most of us on here would be easily dead by our current ages
Interesting history, but terrible time for Esotericism. Or Maybe it was an amazing time for Esotericism.
The Middle Ages were one of the best times in history, because women had no rights.
Fun for average history
Bad for average peasants.
