What's the realistic worst case scenario if trump doesn't get arrested and becomes president again?

Regardless of what happens to Trump, I don't think anyone really believes that the very rich are ever likely to be held accountable for their behaviour to begin with, and even less so in the case of a prominent political figure, so that's not about to change.

The former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was found guilty of corruption, influence-pedalling, wire-tapping and breaching of campaign funding laws. He received two very lenient sentences (1 year in jail, 1 year house arrest), and of course he's appealing the convictions, so it will get dragged through the courts for years to come, before there's any chance of him actually setting foot inside a prison - and meanwhile, he's still a very influential figure in conservative politics.
That's what happens in France, so in the US there is absolutely zero possibility of Trump facing any serious consequences - and even if convicted of something, he could launch enough appeals and legal challenges to keep himself out of jail for the rest of his life.

I don't think there's any possibility of him winning the Presidency by illegitimate means. If he wins again, it will be because he got enough votes (and the electoral system is fucked).

So, the realistic worst case scenario would be that he's President at the time of another major crisis that requires strong, intelligent leadership - like the Covid pandemic - and he completely fails again. Fortunately, those major events are relatively rare, and a lot of Presidents get away with not doing very much of anything.

TRump will win the 2024 election handily. He will implement most of the successful policies that defined his first term in office. Wait In Mexico, Energy independence, get out of the Paris Climate Hoax, finish the border wall and other programs that actually helped Americans.
