Me personally, I think there is a line that people can voice their opinions before they need to shut the fuck up. A physician wouldn't tell a nuclear physicist how to do his job now, would they?

Yes, but at the end of the day, everyone has their opinions and often a reason to believe what they do, and a lot of the time, people hide behind a vague description of their background that sounds loosely related in order to sell themselves as an expert, especially in the fields of the military, sciences, law, and business retail. If I had a dollar for every time (hypothetically) an Army JAG officer appeared on a major news outlet to promote or b*tch about helicopters, logistics, intelligence reports or anything else he never would've been near, I'd never have to work again in my life. The background of "experts" is very open to interpretation.

Even with law enforcement, every federal agency, sheriff's department, and city department does some things a bit differently or to a different standard, so what may seem like a basic, trivial thing to a Houston officer may not even be on the radar of an officer in Los Angeles, and vice versa. Or an FBI agent who spent their entire career in Narcotics probably isn't the best person to be interviewing regarding the Counter Terrorism division. So even when someone *sounds* like they know what they're talking about, there's always going to be a bias of perspective or some level of misunderstanding.

Everyone is an armchair warrior, easy to say what they would do in any given situation besides actually facing the situation themselves or actually walking into a recruiters office or going online to apply for Law Enforcement agency's lol

Of course they can have opinion. But what I am getting at is that if you start trying to say how something should be done or they something needs to be, there is a limit before you need to hold your tongue. If you have no knowledge of the concepts at hand because you have little understanding to the ins and outs, the breaks need to be put on.

Otherwise it comes off as sheer arrogance to double down and be completely ignorant.

Depends on the situation.

For example I have no problem calling out the cowardice of those cops in TX who failed to respond to the school shooting.

It's fine for people outside of the profession to point out major fuck ups and failures in duty.

But yea I don't take the video game Rambo types very seriously. They'd probably just freeze or piss themselves in a real crisis.

I've been in the shit a few times, just as a civilian who used to get into trouble occasionally and I know it's not easy to function under stress like that.

It takes tough nerves, martial practice, courage and discipline to be worth anything in a combat situation. Most people don't realize the intensity of the experience.
