I believe that pregnancy is a matter of responsibility.
Sure, if a woman is with her committed, long-term significant other, and they use contraceptive, but which happened to fail, that's a different story. If people were raped and impregnated, that would be different story. (I don't count irresponsible and intentional consumption of alcohol and getting drink consenting to having sex as rape, because that's a consent there. Being set up and drugged is different.)
Otherwise, I feel that people should plan a pregnancy if they wanted one, and should be responsible for the consequences of the conception, or being what is called "ready" to be parents.
I'm not involved in politics, and I do agree that people should have the right to decide their pregnancies, but I don't know if abortions were given rights which could be taken for granted, would some people who are irresponsible just not use birth control and not think about the consequences of their action, then later just use abortion as a way out of their irresponsibility?
I don’t think all women are evil, even those who seek abortion. A lot of us are extremely empathetic. I’m gonna get criticised for this, despite wording it respectfully. But I believe many women who seek abortion (especially at a later stage) haven’t researched and educated themselves properly, with the full process of what will be felt and experienced by the baby. Not seeing photos, or hearing both sides of this procedure by a medically trained dr, makes a world of difference to a view point. Just giving a woman the word “terminate” really condensed the entirety of what’s involved. I think no matter what your decision, really do your own research, so you can fully emerge yourself into a decision with no regrets. Making this decision with limited or one sided awareness is not healthy in the long run.
It’s healthy to hear both sides of the opinion. Yet it’s unpopular in today’s society to do so. Bizarre.
I also heard about open adoptions (I think they are called) were the mother gets to visit her child and its parents once a month etc.
It’s healthy for the mental health of the mother, as well as the child who grows up with the knowledge that they were (and are) loved.

This is complex and I am not so quick to judge.
However the pastor in my church told me that he once ministered to a young women had (I kid you not) nine yes nine abortions before she was 18.
How is that even possible?
Why didn’t she at least get on birth control after the first mistake? Maybe even get her tubes tied after the second mistake.
The doctors told her that her uterus was so damaged from these operations that she will
likely never be able to have kids now even if she wanted to now. That’s crazy.
But the bottom line is what I’ve been saying for years now. Abortion is NOT a contraceptive. It is NOT an effective means of “birth control”. I guess in a brutal reality it is “birth control”. But why are so many people banking to have an ambulance ready at the bottom of a cliff vs. having a high fence at the edge to prevent people from falling off? Make contraceptives as common as toothpaste to prevent bigger problems from happening.
The problem is, that cases like this are taking the back seat and the less common (and awful) scenarios are being pelted into the limelight.

@England4eva because pro choice extremists on always got use the worse case scenarios and are never open to effective alternatives. I am not a woman. But if I was I figure it is much more worth it to deal with a minor inconvenience and expense of getting on birth control vs. having to go through physical pain, expense and mental anguish of having an abortion.
Also a man I always used protection (unless I knew for a fact my girlfriend was on birth control) even though it was inconvenience and slightly lessened pleasure. I will take a peace of mind over one minute of pleasure ANY day.
I know democrats are going to argue that there is going to be a surge of single mothers with kids living in poverty because of this. They actually have a point. That’s why I am 100% pro birth control including state sponsored birth control all the way up to plan B.
We are blessed to have so many options with modern contraceptives.
It sucks that we as women have this responsibility. However, this is how life is and besides who should we complain at, nature, god? It is what it is. There is no one to be mad at. Cause it’s unfortunately Just one of those things, that as women we need to pay special attention too.

@England4eva there is also no mention of devastating psychological impact an abortion can have on would be fathers. Not every man who unintentionally gets a woman pregnant wants to “do away” with the inconvenience. But in those scenarios the biological father gets no say on the woman’s decision. I Can understand she has the burden of carrying the pregnancy to term and delivering. But still that is HIS CHILD as well. In western countries he’s near powerless to do anything if he wants her to keep the child.
The whole thing is heartbreaking. High schools and colleges should be bombarded with safe sex talks, and it should be advertised everywhere. Society should stop pushing sexual promiscuity too. It’s becoming the norm to sleep with multiple partners with no relationship status. It’s putting men and women at high risk. Show everyone videos on mainstream tv of the trauma of an abortion, as well as the ugly facts. Then see how many people fall pregnant, it won’t be nearly as many.

No promiscuity is a byproduct of society and the internet has made it exponentially worse. Women feel less shame or “empowered” by sleeping around. Men are told they need to get laid because it’s “masculine” and cool to sleep around. Being a virgin male is something to be deeply ashamed of and is unattractive to women.
Just for the record I am no saint when it comes to all of this. But I am understanding the bigger and uglier picture now.

Give the child up for adoption there are many families out there that want children and can’t have them either there to old like in there 40’s but still have years left to raise a child like my parents did or there is something wrong with there reproductive organs that prevents them from having kids this does affect men and women. Adoption is the best option.

Well killing a child is un-empathetic because it's murder. You can put it up for adoption if you're not ready to be a parent. The fetus has a life whether or not it's not outside the womb. Getting an abortion doesn't eliminate some "object", it takes a life.

You are so right. In my country there was a special program about abortions. Doctors were telling stories. They said that almost all the time women who wanted to get abortions decided they should keep the babies after being convinced by the doctors. The doctors were having conversations with them, telling detail by details how the process takes place. Of course after knowing the whole procedire most women would decide to keep their babies.

Adoption currently has a 2+ year waiting period for newborns in the US. I've known some girls who gave birth, never looked at the baby and gave it away.
There is always adoption. It is just unfortunate that adoption is a long and grueling process and expensive as hell.
At the end of the day, women that want to get an abortion, make no mistake about it, WILL find a way to make it happen.
Travel across state lines, some states may not have the resources to pursue individuals who seek abortions in the states where it is now illegal or close to being illegal (police department and county sheriff where I live came out and said they don't have the time, resources or power to go after those that seek it), hell, some may even do it themselves or find doctors they know who can keep a secret or believe women should retain the right to abort to do it. I think if we gave people the rights to govern their own body they would do so diligently. There will always be outliers, but it would be better overall compared to trying to restrict their options due to personal beliefs, bigotry and need to control others. Save yourself, be kind to others, and condemn only your own misguided notions of knowing better.
