Eh... that's not how the game worked, kiddo.

The ronin were only called such AFTER being released by their master, the samurai. Before then, they were basically paid goons of the samurai and sworn to secrecy. If there were any crimes being committed, it would be by these goons. The samurai master was like the deflon don.

For dirty work, there were the ninja. But thats a whole different story.
