In alaska at least when trump was in office, banks would not give new oil projects loans because profit risks. Ot would take years close to a decade to pump oil and in that time frame oil will not be profitable enough to pay the loan.

Then you have the environmental impact. The tundra is becoming more swampy as the permafrost melts. Harder to build, maintain, travel, getting supplies. These are 50 years of predictions that point out the lack of profitable business.

The more profitable venture might be offshore rigs in the artic ocean under the melting ice ccaps. That's what Russia is betting on with the military exercises in the artic before the invasion of Ukraine.

Climate change is 100% natural. It cannot be slowed, stopped or reversed. It’s going to happen and is happening no matter how much money you want to spend on its prevention. Species will die and become extinct just like in the past before we were ever here

We as humanity can reverse climate change. We landed on the moon and put eyes on Pluto with a satellite. Carbon capture is possible its called trees. People invent taking inspiration from nature all the time and a man made tree like thing is possible. We will get there just need to survive untill then. Carbon capture is a thing. It's called trees. Think about it, how do trees grow? Something dosen't grow from nothing. Plant a tree and the ground dosen't disappear, there's water in a tree but not the the majority of the trees mass. Vast majority of a tree is pure carbon from the atmosphere.
