Listen, way more messed up stuff happened in ancient times. We are biologically inclined to reproduce. Children are fun and cute. Here's an idea, love your kids and communicate with them then teach them right from wrong and how to be part of the solution.

It might be too late for me. Sadly I never found anyone nice and perfect haha, and that loved me back and willing to be a good parent toward my children. But I think some women don't care about that requirement, they just want to reproduce and be a parent at ALL cost, no matter WHO it's with! Wether he's in jail, on drugs, have anger issues. It's people like those I am annoyed by and feel angered by. It reeks of irresponsibility!

People have children so that I already can continue to exist. For some Spanish people living in the United States without speaking English lots of them have children so that they can get lots of benefits and get a housing and so without working.

On the point of bullying, I was bullied by my brothers every day. In the moment it hurts but if you get back up ull be all the better. But of course bullying sucks, it’s happening less and less.

Ones who are selfish I believe probably won’t have kids. In my opinion having a kid is the least selfish thing you can do. You essentially put an entirety worth of dedication into a person. Your life is essentially built for the sol purpose of lifting up the next generation. Not your hedonistic desires. Also, most people who have kids on there own terms are married. Married is a vow to be selfless to this person you love. Lastly, if one is selfish they will probably not enjoy living, therefore not having kids. Being selfless is the most gratifying thing you can do.

I don't know why you want to engage in a heated discussion regarding this but okay I'll play.

Bullying takes a toll on your self esteem, often times long-term! If one is bullied, they often feel depressed and suicidal afterwards and wonder what is wrong with them and why they just can't fit in! Your brothers were bad in that they did that to you but I wasn't referring to familial abuse (that can get better as both parties MATURE and move out of the house they were raised, etc.). I was talking about school bullying, bullying online (cyberbullying), and even offline ones (but that is fortunately decreasing due to labor laws, discrimination laws in hiring or on the job, etc.).

Having children SHOULD ideally occur inside a marriage institution, you're right, but you do know there are SO MANY single mothers out there and they (unfortunately) won't be the last from what I can tell. Back when I needed Welfare, I came into that Social Services office to find a bunch of men's pictures POSTED for "all the world to see" what a dead beat and a bum they were for not paying their child support for their children!

Also, did you know about the MGTOW (MEN GO THEIR OWN WAY) movement (a bit similar to Feminist movement), in that they HATE women and blame them almost 100% for how society is and how society is that? They HATE how women can initiate the divorce 70% of the time and they HATE having to give up their house and probably more than half their assets to the woman from a divorce! Tell a MGTOW men to get married and they will LAUGH in your face while walking away!

Quite honestly I’m disputing for the opportunity to learn. To see a rebuttal to my undisputed beliefs is beyond valuable to me. I actually think our views aren’t directly opposed. I’m gonna try to reply to all your points here but I may not be able to reply again.

I agree with you on bullying, it should stop and in-place healthy “pushing” between friends. I think there is some value to that “pushing” that occurs while being bullied. I do however think bullying is less these days. Cyber bullying is a whole different thing in my opinion, and may be even more destructive.

I totally agree with you people who are not in proper places in there life should not bring someone into the world. All that burden the child can/will soak up. I’m arguing, getting to a good place and having a child is valuable. My heart goes out to mothers (and the children) who have children in a good place and the father leaves. That’s very hard to control for.

Never heard of MGTOW. While I do not speak for them I suppose I can possibly bring some light to their thoughts. The marriage thing is simple, the system is for mothers and the spouse who makes less. They see that as unfair, because in some ways I suppose it is. However in my opinion it may be a necessary evil. What is more interesting to me is their hate for women, this seems very bad to me. If I had to place myself in their shoes, I think they’re frustrated. They see the feminism movement and see people getting heard. They feel as though they are not heard. Everyone wants to be heard and their problems taken seriously. They also feel like they are being attacked by feminism. I think good examples of this is the concept of toxic masculinity, mansplaining and man spreading. I think these concepts makes what men naturally are going to do and demonizes it with unknown boundaries. Men are masculine, men generally like to explain things they know, and mens legs are naturally longer. The problem is the unknown boundaries, where these concepts actually become problematic. Most men are reasonable with it but feel they are being told it’s bad. Lastly I think the sexes just shit on another because they only see their view. I am not saying thats the only reasons but all that I can see/say

The adoption thing is a good point. My response is having children is an extreme amount of dedication. You want some skin (literally) in the game. I do see how that can seem selfish and it is to an extent. But I don’t think our natural desires are something to fight. We naturally want our genes to pass on, that’s life. I still think it is in the most part selfless.

On a deeper level, I don’t think humans are capable of being selfless in a concrete sense. Your selflessness is always going to fill your own ambition. Even if you sacrifice your life, you still want to be a hero.

Overall the point I’m trying to get across is most everything can be controlled for in modern times. Make your life what you want

By the way, it wasn't because I was practicing hedonist activities (lol I had to look that up.) that I didn't have children earlier. If it means to have an indulgent or "extravagant" lifestyle, people WITH children can have those too.

In fact, I wanted to make sure I was financially (and relationally as that's just as important) stable before I had them. Hence, maybe that wasn't such a smart idea? I'm 38 now and don't have any children, and my window to have them is closing fast every year (or it may have already shut. I don't know. I have to go to my doctor still). You can make money any time, but you cannot have children at any time. Maybe those people who had children, despite not being financially sound or there, are smart/wise after all!..

Also, the ones who do end up trying to control nature, lose out in the next generation or whatnot. Not saying all people care about that stuff but it's just fact. Those people with "Selfish" personalities and reproduce their genes into the future, will "survive". At least half their genes. But then I heard that after a few generations, with all the mixing going on, it gets diluted anyway!

True, but, if used correctly (maybe not even correctly), it's still pretty good at preventing. I heard the odds are only 4 to 6 out of 100 women will get pregnant (used correctly). With human error it's like 10 or so out of 100. Even if it's not used at all, a woman only has usually a 30% chance of conceiving per month during her fertile years. So it's like a couple REALLY has to be trying with NOTHING to get pregnant.

I don't know what these people who have failed birth control (the pill), is doing/was, but yes, weight (being overweight) CAN decrease the odds of the drug working, I read.
