The reason for data collection and registration is to make future confiscations possible. Notice that they're only doing this to law-abiding gun owners.

1. It was never private to begin with. EVER. Governments own the data and they can sell it to whoever too... and, believe me, they do.

You do understand that the gun control pukes are in the minority right? In order to kill the 2nd amendment, an new amendment would need to be proposed and all 50 states must agree to ratify it..
