Okay with Roe being overturned I feel as if that this sets up a path for conservatives to become much much more far right. First of there next stop is banning abortion nationwide. The states where abortion is already illegal are so extreme that they don’t even let a woman get one in cases of rape or incest. Now the problem with these laws is that it’s going to lead the way to women getting arrested for illegal abortions and then it will lead to women getting arrested for traveling to a state with legal abortion and returning to her home. Another thing is that when a woman has a miscarriage in a state without abortion most likely she will be investigated to prove that she did not force the miscarriage. Secondly conservatives are going to overturn gay marriage and then sodomy which pretty much outlaws gay sex making it illegal to be gay in over half of the United States. Conservatives are also going to try and restrict birth control or even ban it. I also can see women getting fewer rights because of this as well. This is just a nightmare and it feels like the beginning of the show the handmaids tale.

Abortion will never be outright banned in the United States. All the overturn of roe vs Wade did was give the power back to states.

Deep blue states like California and New York not only have unrestricted abortion but also tax payer money to fund many of these services. Several corporations are now paying travel expenses for women to visit these states for abortions (so that way they don’t have to pay maternity leave).

If anything it is the left that has gotten progressively more and more radical in the recent years. This only one small battle conservatives have legitimately won.

However with that said I personally have a different view on preventing unwanted pregnancies. I think we need nationwide free contraceptives. But I draw the line on abortion.

I have predicted the downfall of USA for quite a while now. Sort of feel vindicated although this is but the beginning. That said, this is but a temporary setback. Historically speaking the Supreme Court has always been a regressive force attempting to drag USA back into the past, so nothing truly new there. Civil rights was achieved despite of the Supreme Court, not because of it.

As such it does not really change things. Its going to cause a mess in the short term but this will not last. The Supreme Court will be forced to backtrack one way or another, just like every other time.

It could head in that direction, if the liberal and moderate side doesn't vote in droves for the democrats. I think part of the issue is the younger voting demographic doesn't turn out in a large number to vote.  Now are they going to vote democratic, it's difficult to say, but if they voted in larger number we might see some drastic changes in one direction or the other, and I would imagine with these recent decision, more toward the democrats. Now, how do we get them out to vote, I would say, we need some good politiking tiktokers.

Yes, but I don’t think it will be as easy for them. I’ll happily risk going to prison for helping women have illegal abortions way before I’ll submit to conservativism. I’d sooner die.

When you're trying to befriend someone, do you open by punching them in the face? Because that's EXACTLY the kind of logic you think is being used here. The Supreme ruling says that the Federal government CANNOT override the individual states on abortion. How the HELL could that be a first step to a nationwide ban on abortion? Do you think they plan to just mass immigrate to blue states to vote in people who'll outlaw it?

They are basically listing the furthest right agenda they can and if they win because they distracted people with grievance and blame shifting, they are not going to govern based on any of that grievance or fix any of the problems they blamed democrats on. It will 100% the far right agenda they listed. That's ultimately what they represnt: the right to lie and get elected formit.

All Roe did was say that the legality of abortion is up to individual states. Women are 51% of the population if they want abortion they will vote overwhelmingly for democrat politicians at the next state elections, you know democracy. Might actually work out in the democrats favour
