I've been thinking about this lately, too.
I've stocked a couple of weeks worth of food and a few days of water but I know that's not enough. I've assembled a modest solar power system. I have a ham radio license and a handheld transceiver to communicate as long as it's not knocked out by an EMP.
In the end, I think the luckiest people may be the ones closest to ground zero. I'd rather be vaporized than starve to death slowly.
On the brighter side, I hope that Jesus calls me and the other believers home in the rapture before the mushrooms start sprouting.

I don't think it matters much what I do. But since I came up at the end of the cold war I was told our plan back then was to head for the caves in Missouri.
If there ever is a nuclear exchange. Hopefully it's small and cooler heads prevail.

Chill on my farm until the dust settles. I'm not in the direct blast radius or fall out pattern for the top 1,000 targets in the USA. On top of that Space Force has a vested interest in defending my state due to their base locations at Cape Canaveral, Patrick, and the Malabar transmitter annex. In order to stay in the fight, Space Force has to protect itself.

Probably the best thing to do would be to Go underground in the Sewer
You’d have to Open the Thing but if you managed to Open it then you could go down and Live in the Sewer till the Nuke goes off and you’d have to Wait 24 hours till you can go outside but I’d wait 48 hours Just to be Safe
That would be your best bet to survival

Having a Watch that tells you the Current Time would be good you’d have to Track the hours but overall After Spending weeks to Months in the Sewer cause I mean Putin isn’t going to put a Timer on all of our news stations till how long till Nuke goes off

After all that Waiting You’d hear the Nuke go off and then You’d check your watch for the next 50 hours then you could climb back up to see What the Nuke did to the world and then try to survive Try to find food and if You Wanna Be self Reliant You could survive On your own instead of looking for other people To co depend on

Certain Creatures would survive Bugs 🐜 would survive so that would most likely be your new Food Source Until you can find Other food sources
Bamboo would be an Option orangutans 🦧 eat bamboo so You can pick up there diet and as for water 💧 all the lakes and oceans 🌊 if they still exist would have Radiation ☢️ in it and it would remain contaminated for over 10 years and would take 100 to thousands of years to get the water purified but even then Technology would not be possible in the event of a Nuke war and Building materials would cease to exist so The water would remain contaminated for all of eternity so your best bet would be to
Try to evolve to your environment and drink a TINY bit of the water 💧 that is contaminated with radiation ☢️ as a means to Get adapted to Radiation water little by little never drinking a lot but you’d possibly eventually Be Able to drink the Water without trouble because you would of adapted your body to Radiation ☢️ which would of resulted in Evolution
