What is really real?
Is reality just a simulation?
What is really real?
Hmmm. . . interesting question. I would have to say that is a definite possibility. We have issues trying to understand how reality works. And it appears that everytime we try to figure it out, some built-in universal mechanism prevents us. It is almost like we are trapped inside of a box.
1. The speed of light. Even if we had the technological know how, we can't build a machine that can move faster than the speed of light. It would become infinitely massive. Also, we would never be able to process the second, where we actually went faster than the speed of light.
2. The measurement problem. Still the most baffling issue in all of physics. We have no understanding of why wave collapse happens or why it happens or how anything has any solid surface since when it collapses, since the only reason why things are solid is because of elementary fields, etc. We don't even know what we mean when we say "measurement". What does it mean to take a measurement?
3. We can't figure out gravity. The best description we have comes from Einstein. And this is the killer. . .we know he is wrong. We just don't where or how. There has to be a quantum description for gravity. But every theory outside of General Relativity either can't be proven or has fallen flat on its face.
So we run into this issue of trying to figure out reality and reality constantly coming up with rules that prevent us from understanding what is going on. It is like we are in a big computer game. . and there are these rules created to prevent us from seeing how the game works.
a simulation would require a far FAR greater than great intelligence...
the insane amount of dick size questions here at G@G are proof enough, that this is not an intelligent design, lol...
Maybe the creators just have a very crude Sense of humour
life sure does... lol
Computer simulation is one of the more "realistic" possible explanations for reality.
To me, it doesn't really matter.
Whether we're actually all alone here in the universe, a simple program in a machine, or a mass hallucination of a network of sentient funghi, it all registers as reality to me.
And reality has bills to pay, cats and dogs to play with, and friends to chill with.
I have no control over "reality". Just control over how I react to it.
Well said 👏

Evidence so far does kind of point to our universe being a simulation. If you have never heard of the Observer Effect and the Double Slit experiment i highly suggest you look into it it's pretty crazy lol
If this is a simulation, we are being watched by an intelligence much more sophisticated than we are. And in this simulation, they have given us the ability to choose what we do, which makes it reality.
That's a good reply/thought. Not necessarily the simulation part, but I could easily accept the notion that we are not, after all, God's special creation where he only chose to "create" "intelligent" life on a rock (earth) that is smaller than a speck of sand on your favorite ocean relative to the size of the universe around us.
So yeah, we're the ants scurrying around, super busy at work following orders to build little hills/homes/etc... but the entire time completely oblivious to the higher intellect beings around us who view us as mildly interesting but ultimately annoying nuisances to our 'greater' existence.
If it is, devs are fucking incompetent, because it sucks big time.
That they are! Bloody rushed us out the door with bugs galore!
No, science has proven reality is real and not a simulation.

Doesn't matter. One could even say that our entire universe is just one higgs particle of another world and we are just part of a piece of milk floating in someone's cereal. We have just as much proof for that.
It can actually be used against humans where the advances if AI will mean a lot of humans can be out of a job
yes , all of you slaves are controlled by me
My money is out on whether we're running Quantum Universes! It is definitely possible.
I don’t think so but I guess it’s possible
It will never be possible
Is a simulation just reality?
glass ceiling in the sky
How very Descartes.
