Like him or not, we didn't have the problems we have today under Trump. All they had on the guy was that he was a dick. Biden is both corrupt and mentally incompetent to lead. What likely happens is that the democrats run a candidate that they know won't win and the republicans run either Trump or DeSantis and they run away with the in person votes.

If I was to put money down right now, I'd be willing to bet that in 2024 there will be another catastrophe that makes in person voting feel unfeasible and will result in the return of mail in ballots. We will see massive support for the republicans in person, we'll watch the votes roll in all night, we'll see some numbers change in ways that can't be explained rationally, and then we won't know who the president is for another 3 months. Beyond that I won't say because I don't know exactly how stupid the democrats are but I can't believe they'd be that stupid to repeat 2020 again. Last election cycle the democrats bribed the American people; this time around I expect them to hold the country hostage.

For what it is worth, I don't vote nor do I recognize the legitimacy of the US government to preside over the way I live my life I haven't voted since 2012 and probably never will again. This opinion is from completely outside of the system and I don't support either party.

Ha, if we even make it to 2024. Given all the BS that is going on under the current admin, I'm not sure we will make it to 2024. We are still dealing with increasing inflation. Our gov paying farmers to not work their fields despite a looming food shortage. Rising prices of both gas and diesel that are already impacting the price of nearly everything across the board. While the current admin sends oil from Strategic Petroleum Reserve overseas. I'm sure I'm missing a few things. But if you think the current admin is doing a good job and none of what the admin is doing could lead to lasting damage or get progressively worse before 2024, you really need to put your politics beside and bone up on basic economics. Because if things don't get better we are heading to a situation where our grand kids might end up dealing with the economic fall out of the current admin.

I've been voting a long time. In presidential elections I think there has always been at least 5 parties on the ballot. They don't usually do well, but sometimes they do. Also, sometimes they pull enough votes from the big two parties to swing the results. That happened in 2020.

There are also the primary elections when they whittle down the candidates from dozens to just one for each party. The general election you always hear so much about is basically a runoff election between the two leading candidates from the primaries.

Also keep in mind that there are no national elections in the US. It's all state and local elections. It's up to the states how they do it. That's true of both state elections and presidential elections. As a matter of fact they don't even have to let people vote for president. The states pick the president, not the people. Letting the people vote for it is completely optional.
