No. It shouldn't. This is coming from someone who is from England. Everyone has their own language. People in this day and age are learning Chinese in their late 30s 40s just because of business purposes. Every language has its uses and can prove to be beneficial. Even for tourism, doesn't hurt to have tour guides who are well versed in multiple languages. The world is too vast for just one language.
