For efficiency's sake, sure. I'm lazy and biased, so I would choose English so I don't have to bother learning a new language, but if we're being honest, English isn't the most efficient language. Really, we should move away from spoken language entirely and put more effort into linked consciousness through the assistance of computer implanted in our brains and assisted through AI. If we could transmit not only words, but also emotion and intent near-instantaneously, this would be the most efficient form of communication. Until then, I think developing or adopting a new language would be a wasted effort.

Transferring or merging the mind into computers is fiction, as is telepathy and hive minds, It's impossible to do any of that in real life.

Also even if it were possible, halo 4's story shows why it's a bad idea.

Cell phones were also fiction when they were used on Star Trek. Right up until they weren't. Video calls were fiction on the Jetsons, right up until they weren't. Space travel was fiction, right up until it wasn't. The first mission to Mars is scheduled for 2025, I believe.

Current brain implants already allow the user to interact with electronic devices, although in a very limited way, as this technology is currently in its infancy. An ape in the lab was able to use the implant to control a game of pong. In humans, it has been used to type and send text messages.

Unlike specific concepts, stories, like Halo, are fiction and fit whatever narrative the author chooses. It was a bad idea in Halo because that is the story the author wished to tell. Take Final Fantasy 14, for example. The Omicrons merged their consciousness with computers and replaced every part of themselves until they were entirely machine. They became the most powerful beings in the universe and conquered everything they came into contact with. The reality of how such an innovation could play out is likely to be completely different from either fictional story.

What perfect communication could do is end all disagreements, creating world peace. It could create unmatched empathy, diverting our resources to improving our planet and solving all of our problems. It could be the elimination of greed and malice. It could be the beginning of utopian society.

The best selling point for you? It doesn't even require the merging of the mind with computers at all. As I said in my original post, with AI assistance, thoughts, emotions, and intent can simply be recorded and sent via wifi/bluetooth/new innovation from one implant to the other. The purpose of the implant to be a receiver and the purpose of the AI to translate/copy the incoming/outgoing messages. A symbiosis with technology, rather than simply becoming technology.

Thoughts cannot be recorded that way, it's not a matter of "not there yet" its a matter of brains not working the way that computers do.

Brains aren't storage and retreival systems of data, they cannot be read or played or transfered or copied.

Using the brain as a remote for technology is a very different thing, its more akin to artificial limbs and using the electric current in the body to operate an electronic device, and better or perfect communication does not eliminate different opinions, (not that it should), so you wiuldn;t get utopia out of it, especially since bionic implants make people fall ill, and illness results in conflicts.

Having different opinions is what makes people individuals, if you take that away, you might as well just die at that point, because you have ruined the point of living.

And that was what I meant about halo 4's story, the individuals were lost as minds fractured and merged together, and while that sort of merger isn't possible, the goal of removing individuality (even for the sake of peace) is still the worst idea ever. I can without any hesitation say, fuck uniformity, chaos and diversity is beautiful.

"Thoughts can not be recorded that way." Again, this is a statement that likely will not age well. I've listed multiple examples of times people said something couldn't be done not too long before it was done. A lack of something now is not evidence for the absence of something in the future.

"Perfect communication would not eliminate different opinions and you wouldn't get utopia out of it." Again, I disagree. Why do differences in opinion exist? Opinions form based on information, or the lack thereof. They can also be greatly influenced by emotion. If we all had the same information and felt the same things, what would be left to have an opinion about?

"Having different opinion is what makes people individuals. Take that away and... you have ruined the point of living." Who are you to decide the point of living? You can't even comprehend the machinations required for life to come into existence on this world and yet you are arrogant enough to believe you know its purpose? Or that it even has one? Or needs one? If it did, do you truly believe that in the infancy of our species, as it is, we have even come close to fulfilling it?

Again, Halo's authors had a specific narrative to tell. One of infinite possibilities. Focusing on one and ignoring the others provides no benefit. If my previous examples of other possibilities from fiction did nothing to sway you, perhaps another one will. This time not a game, but a very popular fiction book: The bible. The bible claims that when we die, we become one with god. We lose our individuality and become part of Him and that is where we belong. That is our peace and our purpose. Now I don't believe in god, personally, but I believe we can make one.

The individual is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Everything you believe important will die with you. And what's 80 years in the face of the billions that the universe has existed? The countless eons it will continue to exist after you're gone? Can you truly claim to have purpose when you are so very temporary? Now, if we transcended humanity and became something else, something greater, perhaps then we could find that answer. And when we do, it would validate everything and everyone that came before. Not that discussing it matters much. We'll either move forward and closer to godliness or we'll go extinct and die as pointlessly as we were born. Those are really the only options.
