The problem with electricity is how you generate it and how you power your car and other machines with it.

Switching to electric cars while still burning fossil fuels to generate that electricity is worse than driving a petrol powered car. Also we need to find a better battery than the current Li-Ion batteries, as the lithium is hard to extract and brings other environmental problems with it.

Similiar problems with hydrogen, it takes lots of energy to split water into hydrogen and oxygen, how do you get this energy and wouldn't it be better to direclty power a car with this energy?

Hybrid cars are okay, as both types of engines cancel the disadvantages of the other type out, but they have their own problems, as they also got the disadvantages of both engines, as well as being heavier and thusly need more power to drive.

And regardless of type of engine, all cars need more and more space and more and more rescources, as they get bigger and bigger.

So in the future, we need less cars, more people in the same car, smaller cars and more renewable energy which powers the cars and everything else.

With technology and current infrastructure as it is. Id rather go plug in hybrid. can't afford one right now. hopefully soon. My reasoning is charging stations still aren’t always readily available. And it takes too long to charge up if you are on the go and need a charge. Also what if the grid goes down or you find tour self stuck in traffic for some reason like we have seen. At least with a plug in hybrid I can get gas quick and be good or even carry a gallon or two.
In terms of a daily commute they usually have enough for me to go too and from work on a single charge so i could still be more environmentally friendly but also have the ability to gas up if needed. As someone that likes to try and be as prepared as possible i LOVE duel power source items. Even my flashlights are rechargeable but can also accept toss away batteries. I’m just odd like that

I own an electric car and honestly it has been the best investment I’ve made in my life. People are spending $8 in gas that will last them a week, I’m spending $3.00 to fully charge my car which will last me 30 days. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Literally, what is the point of petroleum if you have a choice? The biggest challenge for an all electric society is replacing all the increasingly obsolete petroleum systems. We are going to end up all electric one way or another, its just a question of when. It is the superior choice and has a far higher potential for development where as petroleum has gone about as far as it can go even if we ignore the fact that we are running out of it. The technology has been "perfected" as it were and is no longer viable to sustain our growing needs hence electric is the clear choice.

I'm not a Democrat or Republican. I do detest Democrats more these days.
But I'll go with petroleum. The push for electric vehicles is a nefarious scam. I don't have time to explain why it has nothing to do with environmentalism, global warming, or why making all cars electric won't work because it's impossible to generate enough electricity.

The purpose of electric cars is to drastically increase the price of car ownership. It's also a trap to reduce people's mobility, monitor their activities, and monopolize electrical energy.

Think about it, will you be able to buy used electric cars in the future? Will you be able to repair and maintain them for years or decades? Will there be such a thing as "classic" electric cars?

This poll is a tad nonsensical.

You already live in an "all-electric" world.

Electricity needs to be generated.

That can come from petroleum, solar, hydrogen fuel cells, wind, geothermal, hydroelectric, nuclear, wood, or a plethora of other schemes.

So, if you are asking about motor vehicles, it doesn't really matter either:

Petroleum is a fossil fuel. Fossil - as in once was. That means they don't make any more of it. "Petroleum" is just a giant battery that, one day, is going to run out. THEN, the only choice you are going to have is a nonpetroleum vehicle whose energy source is likely to come from renewables.

Not American:
The only solution to limit hydrocarbon combustion pollution is to use hybrid cars that lower fuel consumption during acceleration and at the same time decrease the weight and consequently the size of the cars.
Just as it is not possible to use alternative sources and feed into the grid beyond a fairly low threshold, they do not allow frequency-power adjustment, causing blackouts.
The use of full electric cars is not possible, unless 1000 nuclear power plants are built to power the car fleet.

All petroleum and we are going to have to because electric trucks can not pull the load. And lithium batteries catch fire easily and are the hardest ones to extinguish. AND, you have to sit an hour to charge the things... can't be running-like NO heat/AC during Charge...
