What world would you prefer?

A world where Pokémon exist, not animals. It’s the same exact world except Pokémon are real and everyone has them. You also have the negative side of Pokémon like illegal hunting, abuse, neglect, etc. Pokémon are put into species categories like animals. Or, a world where dragons exist similar to HTTYD. In this world, it’s modern day, and people have dragons either as companions, working animals, military, and breeding them as pets. Dragons don’t live in the city but in the wilderness only. There are negative sides if dragons existed such as illegal hunting and poaching. Dragons would have higher IQ than dogs but would be seen as loyal companions.

If we assume it just works? Pokemon. Its cooler to me. Although there are certainly some issues to be answered. Like whether or not fighting them is actually acceptable and fun in a real-life scenario.

And of course, a lot of these pokemon would give people superpowers by extension. Some can literally destroy Earth, or planets. And giving that level of power to a single entity and possibly individual catching them? No.
But if it was feasible somehow, pokemon seems cool!

So I will go with dragons. While powerful and all, they're ultimately not that scary by today's standards. Sure, we might need to deploy a fighter jet to deal with them but a single modern fighter and a good pilot could probably wipe out a nest of dragons with no damage.
That said, dragons are not as cool to me and do not revolutionize the world in the same sense. But are the better pick simply because they won't destroy all life as we know it because a 10 year old threw a tantrum abd gave the wrong command.

"Illegal hunting and poaching" would be the least of my concerns in a world with dragons.

Pokemon is essentially more or less normal just with widely accepted and encouraged cockfighting from a young age.

Pokémon for sure. More variety.

And we already have poaching and animal abuse issues, though to your point I imagine it would be compounded with Pokémon. Especially with the rare ones.
