+1 yYou mean, gay stuff? Yeah, I support that stuff. I have no problem with those types of people. The ONLY issue I have with any of them is when they become militant about it and start shoving it down everyone's throats!! You feel you want to have a relationship with your own gender, I'm perfectly fine with that! I might toss a few gay jokes at you but it's NOT to hurt or belittle you8 but to just get a laugh out of you! You feel you were born in the wrong body, perfectly fine with me! You go right ahead and do what you need to do to be happy! I'm behind you 100%!!
As long as what any of you are doing doesn't hurt anyone else, that's fine! But, you want the rest of the world to respect you and your lifestylle and, a good many people ion this planet just aren't up to that, yet! They're slowly getting there! But, the point I was gonna make is, you want them to respect YOUR lifestyles, but, you ALSO need to respect those of the people around you who are NOT like you! The more YOU respect THEM, the more THEY'LL respect YOU!!
Back in `69, there was this massively huge rock concert in New York. Maybe you've heard of it. It was called, Woodstock! A number of the townspeople around where the concert was being held were of the old stock, from the `20's and `30's. And they blindly though the hippies at this concert were very nasty, rude, disgusting, disrespectful people. After the concert,. a number of those people were interviewed and asked what they thought of the kids at the concert and, nearly every one of them said the kids were VERY respectful, kind, helping, and what have you and, because of that, those towns people were much more open to helping the kids! Giving them food and drink (a few of them even made trays of sandwiches to give the kids!), the use of a phone or bathroom!
And, like some chick at a Cheap Trick concert I went to 30 years ago told the roadies she was working with who were yelling at the autograph seeking fans who were in their way, "In order for you to GET respect, you need to GIVE respect!!" She calmly asked those in the way to move aside so the roadies could get their gear loaded up and they moved out of the way!!22 Reply- +1 y
First of all: WOAH A WHOLE BOOK!
Second of all: its good you support i do to.
And third of all: I feel the same way about shoving your beliefs down people's throats. tbh a lot of Christians who hate pride do that, so it kinda makes me annoyed.
But thanks for the comment I'm glad there is actually a nice person here😄 - +1 y
First: I guess that just comes from decades of not having much of anybody in person to talk to.
The weird thing is, there ARE a LOT of gay and trans religious people out there!! Why would the religoids be so keen to cut THEM down? You're on the same side!! It's just that they wear a different kind of armour!
No problem! There's already too much hate in this garden! Why grow more?

I use to be open-minded about gays, and alt-sex crowd. I use to be indifferent about Pride and LGBT+...
Not anymore. There is no need to spend a month celebrating one group's sexuality. And that includes my city buying rainbow flags to place throughout the city, having parades that have to be guarded by cops on taxpayer dime.
In my suburb near the city, it use to be a quiet simple place. Now we have Pride Parades and festivals in the suburbs as well, with people dressed in revealing clothing, drag queens, freaks, and want to turn it into a family friendly activity with your favorite kink.
It needs to end. The Pride stuff needs to be in one place where the people can get as crazy as they want and be all together with their people.

as soon as consenting adults being able to love/live with/marry who they want to doesn't require parades that HAVE TO BE GUARDED BY COPS then we can all move on. Till then, this is exactly why many of us will continue to support marginalized individuals till the ignorant stigma is gone.
- +1 y
@qdbrown conflating police presence at "all parades" vs. pride parades is either intellectually dishonest on purpose, or pure ignorance. Not sure which is a better look for you.
- +1 y
@nachosaresexy Let's just go back to not necessary. Just as it would be equally unnecesaary to have a parade for straight people.
Gay people are no longer being beat up and killed for being gay. Not in the US anyways. The only people dying these days are trans women dating guys and not telling them they were once men. That's about it.
What people do in their bedrooms is there business. We don't need parades and ceremonies to celebrate it. - +1 y
"Let's just go back to not necessary."
Perhaps you should share that wisdom with the local police departments who disagree with you. - +1 y
@qdbrown bruh try to stop missing the forest for the trees. which of the parades you're referring to have to do with basic human rights and which do not? this stuff isn't difficult if you break free from your weird religious/political ideological stuff that's obviously been well planted into your brain.
- +1 y
@qdbrown i get the impression this stuff needs to be spoon fed to you. So, as an example, did you know that their used to be "parades" (protests) about stuff like womenz not being able to vote? That stuff was literally still a thing that my grandparents told me about.
Guess what. Society progressed and there's no longer a reason to protest and celebrate these things. I'm sorry that it offends you but the same thing will be true during both of our lifetimes with LGBTQ stuff. Just ride the wave, man. It'll happen, you'll be angry about it, but the wave will dump you into the ocean and then you'll eventually die. - +1 y
@nachosaresexy It's all pathetic, as is your response. No gay person is being held back on anything. They can vote, they can walk around openly gay, and no big deal Why protest? If gays get anymore rights they will be above the law. It needs to stop. All these folks are just a bunch of drama queens.
And yes, the parades are no longer needed nor any raise awareness. And the same wave of death you propose me takes you right along with me. Troll! - +1 y
@qdbrown oh for sure, we all gonna die. Some of us will ride that wave and enjoy it, others like yourself will be yelling at the clouds about stuff like pride parades. Life is short mang... give it some thought which stuff is worth getting worked up about & which stuff maybe not.
Yes, I support pride. Why?: I believe that love is a right that every person has earned, and it should be universal. Why should it matter if my oldest son (hypothetically) marries a woman, and my youngest son marries a man? Parents and peers should understand that it's not their decision of who and when their child marries. Money should NOT be an ingredient regarding the love between two people! I read books and see shows all the time where the father of the bride would say "The family requests that guests provide monetary (money) gifts only, please! Thank you!". Additionally, why do parents give ultimatums if all they're going to do is feel a lot of regret down the road? "You either marry the woman (or man if you're female) we pick for you, or we will disown you, and we will never speak to you again!". Parents should be proud that their children have found someone they care about regardless of who they are. Same thing with former inmates--Why do you judge someone just because they were in prison at one time? A lot of these people, have changed who they once were, and want to prove to not only others, but THEMSELVES that there is someone who loves them, regardless of their past.

Now we have a whole month of nothing but pride and even now in July we still have commercials for pride "pride never stops " or something like that. 115 genders and pronounce and they want kids in school to... I Mean it's just gotten completely out of hand I think... I don't mind gays and kids should learn there are people who gravitate to their own sex, but excuse me for thinking that if you want to wear diapers and pretend your partner is mommy, or as a man... uhm excuse me. ... xy-chromosome individual.. want to dress in heels and stalkings -- then I honestly think you can do it at home. They are being trained to resent those who do not share their views.
I have a few friends in the community and when I hang with their friends I get the side eye. Sometimes they say stuff like "oh sorry you can't come to this event it's queer night" basically shaming me for being straight.

+1 yAbsolutely do! I'm queer as fuck myself and homophobes can get bent.
Pride is necessary because same sex marriage isn't legal in many countries and is at risk of being recriminalized in the US, bringing it ever closer to the Puritan Christofascist state it is at its core.
Pride is also a protest because LGBTQ people still face prejudice, discrimination, and hate crimes. It doesn't invalidate that other groups are also victim to this, and many LGBTQ people are also in those other groups who are likewise facing prejudice, discrimination, and hate crimes.
Get bent, homophobes. And Happy Belated Pride. ♥️💜💙20 Reply 532 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. I am not anti gay or pro gay. But I am anti- LGBTQ agenda. And you are a female pedophile defender and a hypocrite.
I do not support the coruptuon qnd ecil that pride has become
"You die a hero (completed your task and have no use no more) or live long to become the villian (Become the very thing you where made to fight)"
Pride started to say "We dont need to be in the shadow but shuld be proud of who we are" but over time it evolve to a closed group, a club
And its very flag show it
The orignal colors meant no group, it meant freedom, it meant humanity
The new flag closes it to groups (black, trans...) Pride is no longer what it once was, and I will not support this villian10 Replyon a global scale it seems like it means something different in the USA to the rest of the world.
in the UK the pride events look to be just a bit of a carnival atmosphere that give people the chance to be openly gay and just party, similar for most of Europe I believe, it doesn't come off as some overly sexualised vibe promoting anything, literally just people enjoying a get together that suits their identity. The coverage of the US Pride events kind of make it look like a degenerate orgy where its not enough just to be gay, you have to be in S+M gear with a dildo on your head, a nice idea but with a terrible execution.
00 Reply1.9K opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Pride about what? Something you didn't decide? Proud of parading with oversexualized and half naked people in front of kids, showing their "kinks" in public? Proud of being the most toxic community, with a god complex as high as Snoop Dog in his good days?
They went from "we can't show ourselves in public" to "we will show everything and even the most disgusting or intimate stuff, and if you say something, we'll rain fire down on you like a fucking WW3, while allowing ourselves to openly hate on straight people".
Nothing left to support there. At the moment being LGBT wasn't illegal anymore, and gay marriage was there, They had everything other people had, but it wasn't enough. They had to be allowed to be completely toxic and hateful.
Want to be gay openly and even marry? Sure, I'm cool with that. The rest is just trash attitude.

+1 yI do not support pride because they want everyone to respect them, but they do NOT give that Respect back. Marriage Belongs to God. Marriage was the First Covenant God Ordained and He Ordained it for a Man and a Women and people need to Respect that. The Rainbow Belongs to God and was the Second Covenant God Ordained and He Ordained it for Everyone and it is Wrong for homosexuals to claim it as theirs. Homosexuals using marriage and the rainbow is giving God the “Middle Finger.” If homosexuals want to be together legally they need to call it something else like partnership and find something else to represent them and give God’s Marriage and God’s Rainbow the Respect they want to receive!

+1 yYes and no. I support the freedom to choose your sexuality, but sexual preference aside, I think pride should be based on the individual. I think all festivals that celebrate a mediocre form of living (sexuality, race, etc) are silly. Pride should be earned through hard work. You shouldn't be proud for having a favorite food or being able to count to 100, or having a mustache. You should be proud for doing hard work or surviving tough situations. I know lots of homosexual culture is still discriminated against today but festivals held in first world countries aren't really doing anything for the people being gay where it's still illegal or discriminated against.

It's a celebration to remember the struggles we have had to go through for equality, and the continuing struggle for both equality AND equity. +1 yI don’t because I’m not gay. But I don’t hate or feel like they need to have less rights. Although, I can do without all the commercials and pushing if there agendas like every other organization. I live in peace. They live in peace. We can co-exist.

+1 yNo. Its a sin. Its gross. It ultimately makes people unhappy and ruin their lives. It also infects society because "pride" is all about advertising their lifestyle to new people including children.

Anonymous(30-35)+1 yNo, I don’t support “pride”. Pride is a sin and so coincidentally is the thing it stands for. Now I’ll be clear, I think everyone should have the right to do as they wish in this regard, but I don’t support it as a lifestyle.

did skybeard also tell you to remain anonymous on this one?

yes. what other basis would you have to call something a "sin" other than big man in the sky with a beard?
Opinion Owner+1 yOh, THAT Skybeard. lol Gotcha. Well, since we’re going that route, nowhere is there a record of God having a beard. For that matter, referring to Him as a “big man” is inaccurate as a fact and lackluster as a taunt. As for why I’m referring to it as a sin, well that’s because it’s a sin. And in response to your initial question about anonymity, that’s simply because I wanted to limit the potential ability of any hateful individuals out there to harass me or my account for daring to speak my mind. Perhaps you know the type of person I’m talking about?
Its not illegal, they can be married, adopt children. Why do they need support? As far as im concerned they are just people.
