Gender: n
Each of the three (or in some languages, two) grammatical kinds, corresponding more or less to distinctions of sex or absence of sex (masculine, feminine, neuter), into which nouns are divided according to the modification they may require in words syntactically connected with them; property (in a noun) of belonging to or (in other parts of speech) of having the appropriate form to concord with a specified one of these kinds; division of words into genders as principle of grammatical classification; (joc.) sex.
The Standard English Desk Dictionary, 1975. Notice how this definition says absolutely nothing about how or what people see themselves as, femininity and masculinity, whether or not those concepts are "social constructs", or any of the other patently silly notions that have grown around the concept of gender over the last 30 or so years. This is how I've always understood gender, and nothing more needs to be added to the definition. Merriam Webster never was a good dictionary.

This is how it defines 'female':
1. Of the sex which bears offspring or produces eggs; (of plants or their parts) fruit-bearing.
2. Of women; of female animals or plants.
3. (of part of machinery etc.) Designed to receive corresponding male part.
Female person or animal; (now contempt.) woman, girl.

So now the woke has made the world women a joke there basically subjecting women don’t exist. Of course there saying men don’t exist as well. Are humans sexless widgets who’s genitalia happened to lock together? I guess that’s what it is according to them.
so now they can’t say abortions is women reproductive health care. Because there is no such thing as a women.
there is no such thing as women’s right because women don’t exist. Might as well get rid of women’s sports but wait what’s a women? Since they can’t provide a actual definition for the word women because again you can’t use the word you are describing in the definition the world women accounting to them is just as coherent as itjyfhfhhghmggujfghdhgfyjtjytyur <————— that is how coherent the world women now means. The world women is now gibberish. That woke. I say no more women’s right for those who can’t define what a women is without using the world women. If you can give me a basic definition of female without screwing up the definition by saying someone who defines them selves as a women is a women then no women’s rights for you because you can’t define what a women is so there is no logic behind women having special rights if they don’t exist.
definition of a women an adult human female. What is a female of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) which can be fertilized by male gametes.
yes the definition of men and women are completely reliant on your physical characteristic nothing more, you can’t identify as a women if you bear offspring or produce eggs.

noun
Definition of female (Entry 2 of 2)
1a: a female person : a woman or a girl
b: an individual of the sex that is typically capable of bearing young or producing eggs
2: a pistillate plantFemale Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster
www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/female
So what they are referring to that use of the word "typically" capable of bearing young or producing egg. Because not all females in the animal kingdom, genetic from birth, are capable of bearing young or producing eggs. But the use of the word "typically" is an addition to the 11th edition that was not included in the 10th.
But of course some of these agenda pushing types on the LBGTQ train would try to grab on to it and make it mean something its doesn't.

+1 yI have a copy of a really old dictionary from forever ago. Figures that Derrida's disciples would hijack Merriam-Webster. Their rebellion against reality is matched only by their lust for godlike power.
The way they skyscream now, you can only imagine what Hell must sound like.

+1 yThey didn't change it though, they just added to it right? To reflect all the ways the word is actually used now. That's what dictionaries are supposed to do. They would be pretty useless if they weren't based on how people talk in real life and updated when people decide that what they say means different things... think "gay" or "hoe" for example. The dictionary would be wrong if it didn't include both common uses, not the people.

How about defining "Female" the good old fashion scientific way?
- +1 y
@BillyBalls It's a dictionary not a biology book. It's supposed to tell you what people *mean* when they *say* female. It's just language. Language is always subjective this is not new. What , do you also think the word "sunny" shouldn't be defined as both a lot of sun outside and a person being enthusiastic because for people isn't not *scientifically* accurate?
- +1 y
"Sunny" does not refer to a biological being!!
- +1 y
@BillyBalls it refers to a weather phenomenon. A human person can't be "sunny" in that way, that's ridiculous. *Biologically impossible.* Humans can't have a lot of sunlight inside them, they are already full of meat and organs—there's no room!
- +1 y
Besides there's a hundred more. "Dog" "baby" "sweet" etc...
- +1 y
So describing a human as "sunny" is denoting a biological function?
- +1 y
@BillyBalls no, exactly. It means something different in that case. That's why the dictionary has 2 different definitions for words with 2 different meanings. This just also applies to the word "female" now, it's the same concept they aren't breaking the rules of language.
+1 yOkay. Whatever. I know what an actual female is and don't need a dictionary for it.

+1 yWhy is ‘woke’ considered a negative? 🤔 Is being awakened frightening? Is it safer to stay asleep? Is having your eyes open just too scarey?
12 Reply- +1 y
The negative connotation with wokeness from what I learned is that is extreme and unrational in their ideology.
- +1 y
@Hispanic-Cool-Guy I would respectfully disagree. In my view, “wokeness“ is really more about being “awake“ to the fact that not everybody is the same, and that our collective acceptance of the differences between us is wisdom. In short, “wokeness” is love. There is nothing extreme about that. 😉❤️

On a side note, how can we have a wage gap if gender is fluid as the woke folk claim?

Actually I asked it years ago, but I’ll ask it again for the heck of it.

Is this surprising? Most books have a liberal slant to them, and a dictionary (even an online one) is a book.
