Is it weird that some people have money but don't want to spend it on themselves?

My aunt has money and doesn't have to worry about working ever again in her life. She's been in Vietnam for 4 months, donating thousands of dollars to help build houses for people. She could easily travel the world or spend it on luxury clothes. Instead, she's been essentially giving money away.

I think that’s amazing of your aunt. There’s so many people out there in need, if she is well off and wants to give her wealth back by actually trying to make a difference in others lives rather than blow it on herself, then surely that mentality is why god blessed her with abundance.

Apparently, she feels she has everything she needs and wants. She's taken steps to financially secure herself, and now wants to share that wealth in a manner that will mean something when she's gone. Good for her!

A lot of wealthy people are not as hateful as many (Disney) movies portray them. Just because you're rich, doesn't mean you are selfish and mean.

She sounds like a good person. Once you are comfortable and financially independent you should focus on helping people and doing great things not buying vain trinkets.

No it’s not weird. People have different perspectives and aspirations when it comes to life. What you feel when you buy things for yourself is how she feels when she helps other people.
