Does the media exaggerate the crime in liberal cities?

I live in NYC if someone tries to rob me they most likely would be a witness. I feel safer here than in some small town in upstate NY. I won't lie there is a ton of homeless here and I have seen a lot of drugs and behavior like homeless people committing sexual acts in public but that is the worst I have seen.

When it comes to local news sources such as cbs2, nbc4, fox5, etc. the amount of cases are still underreported. Not everyone is gonna go to police and call their local media to share their experience. If something happens to me, I ain't gonna reveal it to the entire city and beyond. And if you look at national news, the numbers are even smaller since they got other things to talk about. They only focus on a select few stories that go viral.

There are no such things as "liberal" or "illeberal" cities. It's just media coined hokum to justify their dehumanising and political polemics.

As for "exaggerate crimes" it's how media and security shape the opinions of small minded White ladies and self-entitled dimwits.

It’s not exactly exaggerated but the media sometimes makes it out to be an urban only phenomenon when in fact, rural crime is up as well. It’s all about perspective. The overall amount of violent crime in a place the size of NYC makes for more sensationalized news stories though. You may not perceive it because, per capita, NYC isn’t among the most dangerous places to live. Last year, NYC was only the 13th most dangerous city in the state. You’re more likely to be a victim in some of the smaller towns. So yes…. crime is up in the city but don’t believe in all the hype. It’s still not the Wild West or anything.

NO, it is underplayed…if you have ever lived in City then you would know. 10/1 reported…like what about the one a block away by 7/11. Why the hell isn’t that on the news 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

I have never seen violent crime in NYC some of the sexual acts I have seen homeless people do to each other doesn't always look consensual though if that counts.

I did in Boston and we all know Boston is candyland compared to NYC. I got out of that area even though I rent a 3 family home there.

And where I am now since COVID-19 we are flooded with NJ and NYC. What the City folks are telling me…renting from me…the total disregard in the City for beings…. I know why they are here.

Alright buy my house is walking distance MIT. As far as New York City, I am going on what the ones getting the hell out of there with the "disregard for human life"(That's one of their's comment- not mine). I do not know the point you are trying to make with question but these are my personal experiences.

wasn't it NYC where that guy was trying to rape a girl in the middle of the subway station and everybody was just standing around except the ONE guy who tried to help? And the whole thing was recorded for the world to see? Also, the only people "exaggerating" the crime are the liberals who are under-exaggerating it. Pretty hard to deny all the people who keep doing shit and getting let out of jail almost overnight.
