I feel bad for Fauci, honestly. Dude must be so mentally exhausted from arguing with dopes. It’s pretty simple: when corona first showed up, the smart but uncomfortable thing to do was lock down until it could be assessed and we could make strides towards a vaccine. Human beings are very stupid and very selfish. Locking down simply isn’t what they wanted to hear or what they wanted to do. And I AM sensitive to the economic hardships that created, don’t get me wrong. But when it comes to public health vs money, you have to choose health every time. Period, point blank, end of discussion.

Americans, and probably just humans, but certainly even more so Americans, specifically, are going to buck at restrictions, and seem to think “freedom” in an organized society means doing absolutely anything you want at all times, and that’s just simply not a reasonable expectation.

And —I hope you’re all sitting down for this— the whole thing was used as a political platform in the presidential elections of the very same year. Political strategists know what they’re doing, it’s not an accident that politicians took hard-line stances on this stuff, and easiest stance to sell to under-informed people “you should be going about your normal life! Don’t let these people tell you ‘no’!” So now every dummy not smart enough to realize that what we want and what we SHOULD do are not always the same thing, and that it’s VERY important to remain focused on the “should” and divorce yourself from the “want” in order to make sensible decisions. I WANT chocolate cake for breakfast this morning, but that doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. Or maybe a better a better analogy is I WANT to drive way over the speed limit to get places faster and create more free time for myself, but I SHOULDN’T because that’s dangerous for both me and those on the roads with me, so I’ll honor the agreed-upon speed limit rather than calling the state’s DoT “stupid” or “authoritarian” for not letting me drive 100 mph.

So the childish response to someone suggesting we do things we don’t want to is to throw a tantrum and declare them and their ideas as stupid. Here’s what really bothers me: Fauci has been in his position since the Reagan era. He won a Medal Of Freedom for his work on AIDS. Not a soul was out there in the 80s like “fuck Dr. Fauci and fuck condoms and fuck STD testing”, nobody knew who the fuck the guy was, he worked quietly behind the scenes. They run him out in front of cameras one time with news we didn’t want to hear, and this very sudden and deliberate effort to discredit him, both from politicians and civilians, began. This is a classic case of “shooting the messenger.” This guy is the mouthpiece for tens and maybe even hundreds of epidemiologists doing work on this issue. If he came out and said “everyone carry on with just a couple precautions, and we should have a vaccine in a year or so”, we wouldn’t be here. But that’s not what the situation required, so that wasn’t the news we were given. But Fauci is simply the face of it, he runs the meetings and whatnot, but I’m sure at the end of the day, if all the other doctors dissented, Fauci wouldn’t be making that call, he’d listen to the collective opinion from the Task Force.

So right wing media pushed the narrative that Fauci was crooked, and that was that. Right wing media is a closed-loop feed, the viewers don’t get much outside information, they just get what right wing politicians want you to hear and believe, with whatever obfuscated facts necessary to support their argument, and very purposeful blame placed on political opponents to drive a narrative in the upcoming election that you would be locked in your house forever if Democrats won, lmfao. None of that came true, of course, Democrats got the majority and the presidency, and we’re all back to living life somewhat normally. Right wing media will never admit it was wrong, they’ll ignore it or be like “remember when liberals tried to imprison you in your homes?”😂

Anyway, point is, lockdowns were necessary, we’re in a better place of community health than we were before, but some people will just never let it go that we had to lock down. It’s hard to take those people seriously, so I just try not to worry about it, lmfao. But yeah, Fauci and his whole team were studs, I’m sorry our population has so many self-centered morons that he’s not getting his due.

Are you only talking about the vaccine? I don't know about others but I am skeptical of most doctors when it comes to vaccine. But the reason for that stems from the fact that this vaccine is new technology compared to the way vaccines normally work, and it has not gone through testing which takes an average of 8 years I think. Who knows what the long term effects might be. Lots of drugs that got approved by the FDA got recalled later because of some serious problems that people developed later in life. What makes anyone think that the same will not happen to this vaccine? Women have reported changes to their menstrual cycles after taking it. I'm a man so I don't have to worry about that side effect, but it's still a bad side effect. And it's unknown what could happen years from now. Some sources mention that it could make you more prone to infection after the limited time protection wares off. I forget which podcast I heard that on. Anyway, that's why I'm skeptical and don't recommend anyone to take it.

It’s not about not listening to doctors. There are doctors who have spoken against the vaccines, the lockdowns, masks etc.

What it’s really about is trust, particularly whether or not we trust the people in power. I definitely do not.

I didn’t even trust Trump when he started speaking about vaccines. I don’t trust any politician fully. They’re all corrupt. All of them lie to gain power, it’s the one thing they’re all good at, the successful ones at least.

You might say that it this has nothing to do with politicians because it’s about science, but that’s not entirely true.

There are many examples of scientists being paid large sums to say whatever those who paid them want them to say. For example, people in the sugar industry paid scientists to blame saturated fats for the health problems caused by sugar.

When you look at the history of pharmaceutical companies such as Pfizer, J&J, Moderna etc. who created the vaccines, you can find cases where they had to pay fines for bribing scientists and doctors to push their products when they knew that they were harmful. Yet, the amount they had to pay was less than the profit that they made.

These people can also pay the media.

So then when I listen to anybody I think about who stands to make the most profit, what is most profitable, what is the safest position vs who stands to lose money, status, their jobs, what is the least safe position to take.

The scientists, doctors and experts who promote anything which fits the official narrative obviously get paid or are at least the safest. Their message will be promoted by the media. They have nothing to lose and plenty to gain. Those who do the opposite will be censored, have their jobs threatened, they can lose everything, but they choose to do it anyway for some reason.

That’s enough for me not to decide who to listen to.

just Fauci and Rochelle Walensky, there basically politicians they understand policy and think that one size fits all when it comes to public health.

doctors who work in hospital we trust, they don't have a political agenda they're trying to help there patients they work with there patients to help them get the medication that is best for them. a small shirt won't fit on john cena just like not all treatment for an illnesses won't affect the john cena like they would someone much elderly or out of shape. ever human is different. the political doctors in the bureaucracy wants one treatment to fit all

After so many doctors pushing the vaccine and personally knowing multiple people IRL that were harmed by the vaccine and one that died from it, it has made me lose trust in all doctors by default since I don't know every single one that pushed the dangerous covid vaccine.
