From an historic perspective, sure. English culture and history is strictly bound with French ones. Between them there’s always been a relationship of hate-love due to their really common culture, until approximately the Protestant reform.
Then, UK detached gradually and became more self centered, nowadays sure UK is nearer to US than France from almost every perspective.

USA is much more religious than UK, though.

Sure, they have a very religious perspective, that’s different from UK. But in other aspects they’re really similar.
