There are two types of people who do well in a military. Sociopaths, who can function well in emotionally damaging situations such as having your teammates being shot and empaths who have a heightened emotional connection to their teammates that motivates them to go above and beyond to prevent them from being harmed.

Aside from that you want them to be highly educated, lack any kind of extreme views or connections to outside groups such as religions. They should be professional an analytical to avoid basic mistakes born from heightened emotional responses and counter-intuitive situations. Definitely not a highly motivated patriot since those people are a liability on the field.

Best for them to see being a soldier as a job and be motivated to doing a good job rather than be ideologically motivated to save the country or whatever that can easily derail a military operation into some sort of revenge plot or something equally stupid.

They should be able to take their own initiative and function well in groups both of long time teammates and newly formed groups.

Basically you just want someone who is reliable both in competence, mental state and performance. They dont even need to be exceptional. Having a good baseline makes a far bigger difference in results than being extremely good at something since wars are very dynamic.

@USLegionary Most of the Normandy landings were uneventful and quite frankly, if those people are your definition of "ideal soldiers" then you are a bit too high on patriot juice. Question yourself, how many of those do you think would qualify for a modern high speed special forces. Those are the people you want, not teenagers full of hormones and adrenaline.

The average age of a soldier on D-Day was 21 and had 2-3 years of training and were volunteers. Considering most recruits have trouble passing basic training on entry to the military compared to 1941.
Also only 3 out of 100 qualify to become green berets, those 100 are already well trained soldiers.
High speed special forces are for special missions, not for fighting as infantry. You don't waste them as basic infantry.
The Normandy landings were not uneventful and the push to secure the landings was definitely not.

@USLegionary "Average" means half of them were younger than that and teenagers high on hormones and adrenaline are quick to volunteer for military service. The ability to volunteer for something arguably stupid is not always a sign of good judgement and is a bad trait usually exhibited by young men.

Its also worth noting that we are not talking about "good soldiers" but "ideal soldiers". Saying that they would be "wasted on the front lines" is exactly the type of people we are trying to define. I would argue that its also not a waste. Using elite soldiers to spearhead assaults or cement defenses are a timehonored tradition and can be extremely effective although it does mean the losses hurts more than normal.

Lucifer isn't the Devil. It's a name given to the king of Babylon. It's in Isaiah 14:12.

You are correct that the Devil is described as a lion. But then so is Jesus (Revelation 5:5).
