As an American, would you volunteer to join the US Army in a war?

No, for multiple reasons. Number one, I am a pacifist. I might serve as a medic, but I'm certainly not going to serve in any position that would involve hurting anyone or killing anyone. As far as I'm concerned, since World War II, the United States has not been involved in any war that was in the national interest, including the present one against Iran. I'm not going to be involved in any wars that are being conducted in order to make rich people or rich corporations in this country richer. Such wars are immoral and wrong and against my personal code of ethics. I'm not going to incur moral injury by participating in such a thing. So as I said, there are multiple reasons that I would not do this.

Depends on the war. Most wars the US has gotten involved in since world war two have been quite stupid -- Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Iran. I wouldn't fight any of them. The last draft was during the Vietnam war, and if I were drafted to fight I expect I would have refused, and eventually left the country.

I know what the miltiary is. That's honorable thing. I don't think we had the leadership at the top to ensure it's an honorable profession. The suicide rate and homeless rate supports that thesis.

I'm too old to be drafted anyway, and the Marine Corps turned me down for medical reasons last time I tried to sign up anyway when I was 21 years old. I had aced the ASVAB and only missed 3 questions on the entire test.

No. I would not be a good soldier. I definitely don't have the physical fitness. My ASD would also make it difficult or impossible for me to be effective anytime I get overwhelmed. I still have to go to my room and be alone when I'm overwhelmed in a low stress environment.

@Pterodon just because somebody says something like that doesn't mean it's true. Nobody really knows how much enriched uranium these people have. Nobody knows how enriched it actually is. Nobody knows if they've ever really built an operational atomic device. We do know that they haven't tested one, because we would have detected that. We do not know whether or not they have a delivery system.

There's a lot of unknowns in this, but I think it's unlikely that they have a nuke, because if they had, they would be telling us about it to keep us from attacking them with ground troops. So far, they've not told us that. The whole reason for having a nuclear device is for its deterrent value. Once you use it, it's useless after that because you've ignited a problem that involves the whole world and your entire country. Even if you have another one, that won't help you.

Yes MSC we do know how much they have. Fox News interviewed one of the negotiators. He said when they sat down first thing they said was they had the inalienable right to enrich uranium. They admitted to the negotiators they had 490kg of uranium enriched to 60%. We know it only takes one week to go from 60% to 90% or weapons grade. We know 490kg is enough for about ten bombs. We also know anything enriched over 20% isn’t used for peaceful purposes. Trump figured being only one week away presented a very real threat. Do you think CNN would tell you this?

Even if they can enrich it, that's not the same thing as having an operating device, and it's not the same thing as having a delivery system. We also do not know that it takes only one week to go from 60 to 90%. They said they had the right to enrich it. That doesn't mean they were actually enriching it. It doesn't mean that what they told negotiators was true. It doesn't mean that Fox News reported it accurately, since Fox News, like Trump, lies all the time. They are like a mouthpiece for Trump, and Trump lies all the time.
