I had a dear friend I met in Thailand. He was a Brit. He was in his mid 60's and an ex boxer. He didn't take shit from anyone. He was hilarious, and looked and sang like Frank Sinatra. Every third word out of his mouth was "cunt." lol

It doesn't have the same meaning to them. His car was a cunt. The weather was a cunt. His shirt was a cunt. His scrambled eggs were a cunt... The other soccer/football team was a cunt. lol

He came from a different culture. He had a heart of gold. I felt so safe with him. I asked him to come ride elephants with me. He said he didn't like those cunts. lol

It's more common in Britain and I fail to see how "the n-word" is anywhere NEAR as offensive as cunt!! If it's so offensive, why do blacks run around CONSTANTLY calling each other AND THEMSELVES that word? Would it be any less offensive if we started spelling "cunt" with a K or a TT? It's a weird one, it's either the one people won't tolerate or a mild one. In some parts of North Wales it's used as a greeting and jellyfish are called cunts of the sea.
But generally speaking in most circles it's considered one of the worse swear words

I always assumed it was more common to use— based on watching British comedies, shows, or television. I don’t frequently use it but that word doesn’t bother me as much as it seems to bother the general public.

If you’re referring to “cunt”, you are mistaken. It might be as bad as “fuck”, but nowhere near as bad as the ‘n’ word. No other word in the English language carries the same damage potential as that word.

Context is important too. If you call someone a cunt in the US, it’s probably going to ruffle some feathers. But that word carries more meanings and varies in context a great deal in the UK. So we hear it there more often. I’m not sure if they could necessarily get away with calling a woman that to her face though. Ell oh ell!

I have always thought of that word as hilarious because of how powerful the punch of the word is. Probably because it is an extremely offensive word where I live.
