How many people actually use the word "cis" in daily life?

How often do you use or hear someone use words like "cis" or "cisgender" in daily life? What do you think when you hear it?

I don't hear it all that often. I've had the sense lately that its a dying trend. On the occasion that I do hear it though, I immediately take that person less seriously. The reason is that I think it's silly that there needs to be a special word for what until just a few years ago was simply a man or a woman.

I don’t use the word cis because I believe trans women aren’t women. By using the words cis and trans in front of woman in sounds like a person is implying both are women.

If other people want to believe trans women are women that is fine but please just don’t try to force your beliefs onto me.

That's been my thinking, though my opinion probably goes slightly farther. I've thought that the whole "cis" thing is a ploy to retcon mankind. It's an attempt to rewrite how society looks at men and women. It's intended in the long-term to get everyone to question the most fundamental principles of reality and of their own respective natures, and to make the thinking "well, really, we're all LGBT in one way or another."

I have heard a lot of people call transgender people “mentally ill” and “delusional.”
I think people would start taking transgender people more seriously if they stopped claiming trans women are real women and trans men are real men.

Cross dressers don’t identify as the opposite sex they were born as. Cross dressers just wear clothes designed for the opposite sex. I have never heard anyone call them delusional.

“Cis” is mostly used in academic, activist, or online discussions about gender. In everyday conversations, most people just assume gender without labeling it, so the word rarely comes up naturally.

It’s common in context, rare in casual life.

It was invented by transgenders to normalize trans and put it on par with actual normal, sane people, as if male and female aren't the only two genders. I find it offensive.
