Why would anyone volunteer to fight for the United States in the armed forces when the United States doesn't have freedom for its citizens?

I think military people are really stupid when they talk about defending freedom when there is no freedom in the US. Just watch youtube videos of the government and cops stripping people of their constitutional rights. I think the only reason people are stupid enough to join the military is the health care benefit, the chance to scam the government (pension) for fake injuries and free college tuition. The freedom talk is nonsense. I have no sympathy for veterans who lose their life or limbs on the battlefield. Stupid is as stupid does.

many join for the work/benefits. some join out of patriotism to the concept. They may experience freedom or learned of it from family heritage; not everyone feels oppressed or sees it that way.

We've lost a lot of freedoms and it's not a fair country, notable mention the WWI veterans whom never got paid for their work and were cut down by the military.

That is a gross simplification of why people serve or of a desire to defend our constitutional freedoms. Your problem isn't with military personnel, so don't make them an enemy.

Dude, I am telling you we have no constitutional freedoms. No person in the military is fighting to defend freedom because we don't have freedom. People in the military are there for other reasons but saying freedom sounds better. It's like when i have sex with a woman and she asks "what are we doing". That's not the main reason people join by any stretch of the imagination, but some pride in your country and the realization that there are some foreign actors that would love to take our freedoms away do exist. That our federal government and to a lesser extent other levels of government do violate people's rights doesn't mean that the CCP wouldn't love to subjugate us and be much worse.

Try holding a sign in front of a federal building that protests anything about the US Government and you will go to jail. That is the same kind of "freedom" that exists in CCP (communist chinese party). Nobody in military is really fighting for freedom because freedom doesn't exist in the United States.
