Mara lago raid today Florida. Opinions?

I saw the raid of Trump's house on the news today. I knew some one would mention it on GaG.  Why are people so worked up by the raid when the facts of the matter has not been revealed yet?

The right wouldn't exist without fake victimhood and so they never miss an opportunity to shout to the heavens why any given situation makes them a victim. Make no mistake Republican leaders would be absolutely thrilled to see Trump taken down - not only is he a low class obnoxious dipshit but if he is taken down they get to partake in a feeding frenzy on his huge leftover stockpile of victimhood.

They are republicans, after all, and the only action republicans ever take is cutting taxes for the rich. Everything else is just performative. And so they will continue to talk and perform acts of extensive blubbering outrage on Trump's behalf, but they will >do< absolutely nothing that isn't an act, except privately smile to each other.

My guess is Trump will notice they aren't doing anything. But there is nothing he can do about it, either. As long as they are putting on the act that's enough to fool his base, and without his base they don't need him at all. They have stolen his base from him by claiming his victimhood for their own. They do not care what happens to his hollowed out husk.

I have no idea. But it's no mystery that after the riots of Capitol Hill Trump kind of brought it upon himself to have all this bother.

It wasn't a raid. It was just a friendly tourist visit! I'm sure Trump was shocked that Garland actually went after him. Trump sized up Garland as a puss that he could roll over, but it looks like Trump is not above the law after all. He doesn't have daddy to bail him out, and he no longer has executive privilege to hide behind. I'm not sure how much documentation was flushed down the toilet at Mara Cloggo, but hopefully the FBI will find some interesting information. They might find the dysfunctional voting machines or even Hunter Biden's laptop!

The commies took the bait... They think it was a surprise, they think it's a victory, but their too stupid to know it's all part of the plan and this sets legal precedent to go after Obama.

From what I heard, the FBI raided the house because of a dozen boxes of white house documents, which included classified documents not being promptly delivered to archives. I don't think a former president should experience this, regardless of the party.

My understanding is that the president had power to declassify anything at his whim. So it's impossible for him to have classified documents. This is, however, the most unpopular presdient in history sending the DOJ and FBI after a political opponent. Obama did that shit with the IRS, and Biden's keeping it up.
