I don't know, I had a trans bass player for a while. Being trans didn't make her any worse at the bass.

We were really close friends for a while. Then she started getting more and more ideological and I started drinking more and more and now we strongly dislike each other and I have a new bass player.

So full disclosure. I don't have much experience interacting with trans people.

I was on a boat a couple of weeks ago with a trans person who was obviously, blatantly a man at birth. So here was this person using language that a woman would use (making stereotypical jokes about men), using a woman's name, dressing as a woman would.

And everyone's sitting around indulging this fantasy when everyone's brain clearly processed that it was a man. A good analogy would be watching a child run around in a Superman costume pretend punching adults and them going along and pretending that they're actually being hit by Superman.

I try to understand them more. I got no problem with gay people but trans people do freak me out. I believe it IS a mental illness, but if you have a mental illness, you have “something wrong with you, symptoms to fix.” with transgenderism, it takes up their whole personality and identity… which translates into you being a freak

Let me try to be more clear.. With a typical mental illness, it’s your symptoms, or the way you think. Not your entire identity and personality. It’s “what’s wrong with you.” So when it is your entire identity and personality that is “what’s wrong with you” it’s essentially calling you a freak. That’s why gender dysphoria ain’t really called a mental illness
