Ask Marc Angelucci- oh, wait.
Look at Warren Farrell: a man with the demeanor of Captain Kangaroo and the message of Fred Rogers (check his books if you don't believe me; he's doing nothing but calling for basic empathy and better communication). Look at the protests he got when he went to speak at the University of Toronto- find video, if you can. People literally BLOCKING THE ENTRANCE to the auditorium, to keep him from being able to speak.
Look at Governor Ron DeSantis, a man clearly unafraid of controversy, who challenged the worldwide narrative on the dangers of Covid and the best response to it, and HELD to that, in the face of constant withering criticism. Then a bill came to his desk that would've made 50/50 custody of children the default in divorce cases- and the pressure he got was so strong that he vetoed it.
Look at Erin Pizzey: a hero by any honest definition. Opened the world's first battered women's shelter, giving these women and their children a place to escape to and hide. More importantly, giving them HOPE that their abuse wasn't what they were doomed to forever, and that things could change, even in a seemingly impossible situation. Unfortunately, Erin was honest enough to point out that most of these women had serious problems themselves, and weren't innocent and perfect angels, and that fixing their problems beyond the most immediate sense would require real efforts at self-improvement, which infuriated the Feminist movement. And she pointed out that there were battered *men* who needed help, too, and that was a bridge too far- the retaliation escalated into straight-up MURDER attempts, and she had to flee the country.
The problem here, unfortunately, is the Feminist movement. It didn't start out that way; time was, the difficulties the sexes faced were outgrowths of the situation were evolved in. As time passed, and victory after victory by egalitarian sentiments handed women more and more rights, the Feminist movement eventually reached the point where women had, essentially, full legal parity with men. "Great!" said many of them "We won!". And they left, having achieved their goals.
But many more stuck around, since they'd made a living out of The Cause, and weren't going to go get honest jobs. They began rewriting the narrative, telling the world that women were historically oppressed (instead of the truth, which is that they were protected, which also means restricted, and that these restrictions were often onerous, and had little place in a modern society), and that any difference in the social or economic outcomes between the sexes was the result of discrimination (absolute nonsense), that much of that discrimination was due to biases the discriminator wasn't even aware of (so there was no way to defend against the allegation), and that men and women were, body parts aside, no different from one another (the most frequently debunked theory in the whole field of sociology). But few were willing to stand openly against the movement that had been a central part (no, not the only part; that's historical revision again) taken down so many bigoted laws and policies. Give a read to Earnest Belfort Bax's The Fraud of Feminism, which points out all the flaws of the movement, and how it utterly fails to be anything like it claims it is. Then note the publication date: the book was written in 1913, over a century ago. The claims that modern Feminism is "corrupted" or "not what it started out as" are yet more revisionism.
It's not so simple as "Feminism bad", however- the deeper problem is those instinctive drives that push to respect men and empathize with women. They're universal, they run VERY deep within us, and almost no one is willing to declare war on their own brain to keep them from controlling our actions. This is why people roundly condemn the treatment of Emmett Till, but praise the MeToo movement, which is exactly the same thing. Without the necessary self-reflection, the only way forward is to force women into the same position men are in, then change policies to protect EVERYONE. I don't like this; I hate the very idea. But unless and until people are willing to treat men as human, it's the only way forward.
The only way it will change is if people organize petitions and get enough signatures to get laws on the ballot to vote on. The only way that will work is if WOMEN are the ones to organize it because if they don't, most women will vote against it and nothing will change.
The problem is that most women don't want men to have equal rights at all when it comes to child custody, divorce (theft by women and courts), jail sentencing for the same crimes, required paternity testing at birth before signing a birth certificate, etc. Even the women that claim to be for equality will NEVER do anything to get a proposed law on the ballot that would help men's rights. They only want preferential treatment, NOT equality.
One cannot look at men's or women's rights in a vacuum. There are people who say, well look at women's liberation or look at Me Too---CLEARLY women have more rights, but this is an absolute failure historically to look at these problems and just how many decades and centuries of time it took for these things to take effect or to be taken seriously.
Men are in the same boat in a lot of regards that women have been in for centuries in terms of trying to secure their rights. Women have come from a place where we had no rights to land, to own property, to vote, to hold positions of power, to hold guardianship of our own children, to get an education, and we're still fighting for reproductive rights etc...and that's just in the US. That doesn't take into account women around the globe, which SURPRISE, exist too, many of whom are still fighting for a right to an education or the ability to walk the streets not fully covered from head to toe without being killed.
Men have dominated law on a global scale. They have held the reigns of power for centuries. In many countries they still have absolute power, but with anything involving rights, it's not a one sided thing. Women didn't get the right to do anything without having the support of their male counterparts because they were and still are the majority in politics who make and sign laws and rights into existence.
Men definitely need to actually support men more. If something is important, show up, vote. Literally you have the legal/political power at your hands more than women do. Like women, you must appeal to the opposite sex on the importance of such rights (women had to do it, so do you). Appeal to social media. A lot of campaigns these days take off from there. And lastly, never give up. The minute you bark about things being to hard, you lose. Change rarely if ever happens over night just because you think it should.
@msc545 Are you trying to change history? By the way, if you actually read what I wrote: "Men are in the same boat in a lot of regards that women have been in for centuries in terms of trying to secure their rights." Add to that, the entire last paragraph. If you want change, you can't complain online, you've got to actually fight for it. My point is for all the people incredibly clueless to the history of women's rights to this point in time, we didn't get a thing overnight, and if you want rights for yourselfs, do the same thing women did and actually fight for them for as long as it takes.
I don't care about "certain countries". I live in the US and I assume you do as well - if you live in another country you ar not qualified to comment on the political situation here. Men do NOT exclusively control politics here. What happened in the past is completely irrelevant to what happens here and now. You keep mentioning other countries and the past as if those things mattered and they do not.
@msc545 Considering this was not an exclusive question about US rights, it is absolutely fair to talk about men and women on a global scale, but even speaking of the US, I see you conveniently are ignoring history but that won't help you solve your problem in the current fight for men's rights because my one overriding point is, fighting for rights does not happen overnight. Ignore that if you want to and continue to argue online, but if you aren't putting in the work, you aren't speaking to law makers, protesting, taking it to court, recruiting other men and women in the fight, you're doing nothing to further your cause. Period. You can also ignore THE REALITY of history, but you really should crack open a book and find out how long it actually takes for people to obtain rights. It's not one week, or even one year...so good luck to you!
@msc545 Its perfectly fine if you can't or don't want to listen. Remember, women can now vote...something that we historically had to fight for for centuries, and if according to you, men don't have any power in politics, then it seems like you might need me to help you get your rights with my vote as I haven't heard any ideas from you yet how you actually intend to acquire more rights for men.

Nope they are not.. We would have to get through this culture of misandry to even start really.. Multiple people have tried to bring "awareness" to men's issues, but most people think it's just men complaining and are bitter.. They also would have to make sure they weed out the men that are bitter, because that adds fuel to the people who don't care about men's issues fire..
It's called "status quo" dumbass.
There was a time when being White, bigoted and racist wasn't being "taken seriously" too.
Men's issues never were taken seriously and still aren't, because society sees us as disposable. Until women and powerful men start giving a sh*t about men's issues, I don't think anything will change.
They aren't and a better solution is to make use of prenups, focus on self improvement before looking for a relationship and to look for women who appreciate a traditional man who provides and keeps his family safe.
I'd encourage north American men to travel abroad looking for a wife if you can't find a good one locally rather than settling for someone toxic.
Of course they’re not taken seriously. Because nearly all women and at least half of men don’t give a shit. Until more people are on board, nothing will ever change.
I don't know what this implies... but I've never had my "rights as a man" infringed or anything
Well, to provide a few examples of this issue:
Men's rights surrounding custody of children upon separation from their spouse.
As for men's issues, many will say and have noticed that they are not getting as much attention or priority as analogous ones for women
I am not planning to divorce any time soon... so that does not really affect me
as for attention, I don't need attention from anybody at all
if you mean support, of that I have plenty... but I have earned it, of course... and you get support as you give, well that's in my case of course
Really? I can buy that you didn't have your genitals mutilated as an infant, but you never were threatened with imprisonment if you didn't consent to be submitted to the risk of battle slavery? You never faced discrimination in employment or college admissions on the basis of sex? You were the one man who was given the same reproductive rights that women have in this country?
@NamerOfStars not once, no... for none of what you said (in both of my countries, by the way)
and if you wish, you can come up with more examples and we can keep checking on it
and if you want some controversy for the sake of controversy... men and women do not have the same reproductive systems, maybe you want to hold onto that for discussion? lol
If you've never registered with the SS, you'd better hope they don't find out; you can still be prosecuted. Hope you never need a loan or apply for a government job! That IS, however, possible- but no, the rest aren't. You simply don't CARE about having your rights violated. That's a pity, but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.
@NamerOfStars my rights as a citizen have been infringed a couple of times, I just didn't make it about my dick... that's the difference
If the only reason it's legally acceptable is BECAUSE of your dick, then it's not really up to you to "make" it that way.
@NamerOfStars you don't even know why or what was it, but you sound so sure about it... lol
you obviously are that passionate about dick's rights, that's very clear... but you have to understand that just because something happened to you in particular, it doesn't mean it is an actual issue for all other 150 million of Americans... or four billion other dick bearers, if you wish to account for the world's population
@NamerOfStars by the way, and for further discussion would like to make it about what happened to you and your case
you know instead of pretending that my dick in particular is being violated... lol
Your dick isn't being violated; your RIGHTS are. Do you really think that masculinity is only about body parts?
@NamerOfStars so tell me then...
how are your masculinity being violated... because mine sure isn't
this question is about "man's rights" being taken seriously
so if you want me to take it seriously... bring me your real and serious account, who violated your rights, and how?
RIGHTS, you moron, RIGHTS. We are NOT talking about molestation! I shouldn't've bothered; you can't accept that equality is a desirable goal. Pity.
@NamerOfStars so go ahead... which of your rights were violated because you are a man
let's see what actually happened
No, I don't, not here in the US, not anywhere. In the US it's women's rights that aren't taken seriously.
Doesn't seem like it. I have just accepted that most people aren't going to care about me. The best thing to do is to surround yourself with good people. Build your own support system.
I'm mostly referring to men's issues not being taken seriously.
Mens issues have been the same since the dawn of time. "Men, you run at each other on our command... and start stabbing each other in this field. Because I want some money and land"
I don't think that bud. I KNOW that they're not taken seriously. And it pisses me off.
Well, to start, you could stop fucking girls and then leaving them.
Sorry; wrong post.
I have done this many times, lol.
Men's rights are never taken seriously. According to most people, men have no rights.
men have rights ok
Yes I agree.
Can you explain more why you agree?
I have discussed this topic already so many times. I'm not really in the mood now.
-male mental health is expendable nowadays
-male suicide rates show the truth undeniably
-women have the upper hand in dating
-women can get away easier with crimes (physical violence and verbal, false accusation), & get punished way less harsher
-men have the disadvantage in marriage
-the old traditional role of the man providing for everything, managing everuthing, always be strong mentally, show no feelings,
-old mentality feelings=weakness, do men swallow their feelings down and that leads to frustration and mental issues
-men are way more lonely than women
