I don't want to bring in the wemons aspect of it all because this brings up different arguments such as rights, outher issues and contributing problems when comparing men to women. Demographics is a big issue as to where you live and the take on equality aswell. No where has it made where we are all treated equal. Personally I never believe we will be treated as such. Their will always be a separation in my opinion but yes men are more likely to have their problems ignored then wemon 100%
What a great contribution by one so young , well said.

Fuck yes, right on man.
"It's not normal for so many people to suffer mental health issues"Compared to what? Back in the 50's and 60's when people just ignored obvious mental health issues and self-treated it with booze and denial?
@HungLikeAHorseflyNo, because that means that there was a problem with society back then too. What I'm saying is really simple, that people today seem to put the cart before the horse. It's like talking about coming up with cures for cancer while ignoring the things which cause it such as smoking, obesity, diet etc.
So, your idea of normality is baseless, then. I would agree with you - in general, treating the underlying cause is much more valuable than treating symptoms. It's not clear at all that the things you listed are causes or merely more symptoms, though.I mean, think about it: are men facing more mental illness now because of things like falling behind educationally... or are we falling behind educationally because we aren't treating mental illness? If you look at the actual societal reasons men are falling behind women in some areas, you'll find it has little to nothing to do with Feminism and everything to do with dysfunctional ideals of masculinity. Although, I do agree on some points: fathers' rights, domestic abuse, etc.
Bottom line: Men's issues are largely dismissed because their solutions would put women in a compromising position. All biology aside, women's concerns are prioritized because they align with the priorities of civilized society, the highest of which is safety. A safe society has no tolerance for the more combative elements of "masculinity" and can't be bothered by men who fail to gratify or suppress their sexual needs or attain their desired social status through exclusively cooperative means. That's the elephant in the room. The only (dystopian) solutions I can think of would be mass placation through medication or eunchization with few specially selected exceptions, much like male livestock have always been handled.
@DonCachondo The only elephant in the room is what men put there. It’s mostly other men, not women, who impede progress on these issues. Thinking otherwise is just unproductive and a little naive.
@HungLikeAHorsefly I get the impression you didn't read my comment carefully at all because what you say doesn't conflict with that in any way whatsoever.
@DonCachondo Well to be honest no. Mainly because I’m a reactionary fuck and also I’ve been drinking. So... carry on nothing to see here.
And here's your problem.I have a mental health issue. I've been on meds for years. But now we have people shooting kids in schools. The news media spins the story and blames the person's mental health issue. Now their going to take away the guns of people that have mental health issues. Nice thought huh?Gun free zones are killing grounds for people who want to harm others. Now in comes the government and takes my weapon. IM THE NEW GUN FREE ZONE. people in general are just stupid!!Dont see the sense in this.
Depending on what you have it is an understandable precaution to regulate the weapons of someone who has a mental health issue for their own safety and other people’s safety. Mass shootings have become very common in America and it is better to be safe than sorry. Most of the developed world is far stricter than we are when it comes to gun control and this is a very minor precaution. In the US system it is very easy to just get a gun at a gun show with little regulation anyways even if a weapon is taken from you.
Lol I take it your from another country. If your not a United States citizen then your opinion doesn't matter to me.We in the United States have survived for over 200 years because of the "right to bear and keep arms"The war of 1812. The British invaded and we pushed them into the ocean because of that right.World war 2. The Japanese were going to invade the United States. What stopped them?Admiral Yamamoto warned the emperor that if he invaded the United States "There will be a rifle behind every blade of grass".If you take guns away from law abiding citizens, then the criminals will be the only ones with guns.Want proof?Chicago's gun laws are the strictest in the United States. They have at least 15 murders a day.Want to know why?Because LAW ABIDING CITIZENS DONT HAVE GUNS. THE CRIMINALS DO!!I've been mentally I'll for 25 years. Do you see a pile of bodies laying around that I've killed?Proof enough that not all mentally I'll people are killers. And yes I have access to a freaking gun too!!The real problem is that others think they have the right to rule over what others do.That called people that have power and control issues. Look it up in psychology. Power and control is a perversion.
I’ve lived in the US my whole life but I support gun control because we have had too many mass shootings and it is time for us to catch up with the rest of the world. Of course Chicago still has guns if it’s only a city wide legislation. All you have to do is leave the city to get a gun. We need federal legislation and universal background checks to make sure the people that have guns will not misuse them. In the 80s Australia had a mass shooting and they enacted sweeping gun control. As a result their murder rate instantly dropped and they haven’t had a mass shooting since. Since New Zealand’s shooting the government enacted stricter regulations and a buy back program. On a nationwide scale gun control works. According to the CDC you are 6 times more likely to use your gun on yourself than for defense. Other people having guns does not prevent a mass shooting. There were people with guns in Las Vegas and El Passo but the death toll was still very high. It is time for us to except that our current system isn’t working and for us to begin to implement background checks on everyone who buys a gun and to ban military grade weapons. Guns will never be banned but they will just need to be regulated more. For example in Australia people can still have guns but there is strong regulation on the type of people that can have them.
Does one person’s right to own a weapon really trump someone’s right to live and not get shot in a shooting?
I'm going to go with you just have a strong support network. I mentioned wanting to see a therapist and I was just jeered at.
Therapy doesn't work well for men. We can't just "talk out our issues" like women can. Mental health problems that plague men are usually caused by extrinsic factors that probably have no perfect solution. I can't imagine a society that could possibly be arranged to please all men, much less in addition to all women. I can, however, imagine what a society that could please all women would look like.
@DonCachondo it works well for me.
With meds, sure. Those work on most people.
@DonCachondo well yeah my condition needs meds to regulate my moods. Without that I couldn't function consistently.
Same, friend. Same.
Oh yeah, I've heard that "man up" line a while bunch of times. I'm asking for help, not quotes. After a while you just don't bt feel comfortable opening up about it. And it lingers there.
@Paul09 I've even heard it while responding to someone else's questions. Like one time I was answering this woman's question about why more men have started to get resentful of women, and I even though I'm not resentful of women, myself, I probably spent a good 5-10 minutes writing and carefully explaining the reasons that a lot of men are. I even explicitly said that I'm not resentful of women. Within an hour, some guy that was a few years older than you all but tells me flat out to quit bitching and deal with it; that this is life.
People tend to reject what they do not understand, or want to understand.
Your absolutly right about the company we keep. We are only as good as thoes around us. But only if it was that simple. (My hopes is for most it is)Personally I have cut all those people from my life, this has included both my parents, my grandparents actually all my family except my grandmother. 96% of all my friends. I have dealt with sever depression since I was diagnosed at 13. I'm turning 30. My family never understood depression or addiction. I suffer from adhd and some days it is a positive some it's a negative. Throw in my trama and ptsd along with sleep problems. I have vivid dreams and bad night terrors. Sometimes I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I was also sexually abused severely bullied as to the extrema of being hit with cars and having my vehicle sabotaged. That being said it's easy to talk the talk and say get over it your absolutly right but that's not the cure. Even talking about it does not always work. Depending on issues at hand and what all the compounding problems are their is not 1 true method to fix this issue. Each person will require different means of assessment and intervention to help their mental state. Some can get by with a new set of man rules while others need months of rehabilitation and learning let a lone changing their outlook and opinion on what be a man.
I think your missing the whole question at hand here. Wemon should never be compromised due to a man's mental health. Yes I have has issues brought on by wemon and relationships. At the same time I PLACED MYSELF IN THAT'S PREDICAMENT. I was never forced to have relationships yet some I did I was used and taken advantage of. This turns extremely bad when children are involved, I took custody of my son from his mother who would not give up. Neglect, abuse, not providing basic needs and it still cost me 40 grand in lawyer fees. What's fucking wrong their? Court cares less of a child then mothers rights. It very much affected my son. She has now lost her fifth kid, when should we treat them like livestock and remove her from being able to breed? Problem is you can't... human rights. Yet thoes children's rights are superseded from mother and her rights. Society a whole is the issue. If their is an elephant in the room then maby the room was built too small
So very true. It goes for men in general. If you complain you are called a whiner. If you demonstrate emotion you are called a bitch and people will gang up on you too.
