Randall Tilton,32, is a New Hampshire native who was stationed at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton aboard the USS South Dakota, where he served as a machinist's mate 1st class. His crime, child rape which he accomplished by targeted single mothers on dating apps to get to their baby girls

Investigators reportedly obtained more than 8,000 videos and photos of female infants and toddlers being sexually abused over the course of 8 years by Randall Tilton; spanning over three states -- California, New Hampshire, and Connecticut.

Tilton reportedly violently raped the infants and filmed the abuse before uploading videos to the dark web. Furthermore, he raped and recorded videos of a seven-year-old girl whose mother he met on a dating app. Tilton was also accused of taking pornographic photos of a Navy comrade's four-year-old daughter at a barbeque.

Speaking to investigators, Tilton revealed that he had abused his first infant victim more than 300 times. Prosecutors said that his rapes became increasingly violent and a video of his abuse was viewed more than 100,000 times on the dark web. The Navy sailor reportedly bragged on dark web forums about how much he enjoyed doing what he did.

According to prosecutors, Tilton wrote a letter from prison to someone he considers his grandfather. In it, he reportedly explained how much he enjoyed the abuse and in disturbing detail. "Tilton's own words, captured in comments he made in forums on the dark web and chilling letters sent from prison, demonstrate that he reveled in the abuse and brutality he inflicted," Gifford wrote.

According to prosecutors, the abuse only ended with Tilton's arrest. He was sentenced to only 210 years in prison and has to pay back 900k in restitution to his victims.

Well I hope someone lets it slip why he is locked up. Because knowing how inmates treat people that molested children he probably won't last long. Then again part of me wants him to get way worse then whatever the inmate would do to him. I was kidnapped and molested and I can see people going through what I did chomping at the bit to get their hands on people like him. I'd sure as hell will be in that line myself.

If you go to jail for 210 years you come out the backdoor in a body bag even if you serve your sentence... That said, child rapists tend to get tortured and killed by other prisoners often. It's actually a slower more painful death than the death penalty. Can't go too much hard on a person.

You might think sentencing someone to capital punishment is a harsher punishment, but child sex offenders will be beaten almost daily, extorted by prison gangs, raped, and eventually someone will likely kill them out of anger and for reputation. People in prison hate child diddlers. A lot of prisoners were molested as children and it eats away at them, so they take it out on people that end up in prison for being child molesters.

What do you mean even if you serve your sentence? Humans are not know to live past 130. But OK, that's the U. S. system, not what the question is about, let's stick to it.

You are right about everything you say. This person is sick, in every way. The system deemed him unfit to return to society. Can he be rehabilitated or treated? I have no clue. Some child molesters are, and never reincide.

But this one will be in a living hell until he dies in an American prison, probably sooner than later. Period. Is that really how a sentence should go? I don't think so... Light, it is not.

Does the severity of his unspeakable crimes justify this? That's another question.

@MAC1983 That was the point, it is a death sentence dragged out in misery. Even if you were to draw and quarter someone or burn them on a pike, it would be swift. The way I see it, he tortured and violently raped multiple helpless children over time and bragged about it being pleasurable. He's a sick fuck that can't be rehabbed. No fucking deals. Him being handed down a sentence that gives him no hope of escape, among a bunch of animals that will make him suffer in pain and feel helpless until he dies seems in the same ball park as what he handed down to his victims. Except that is not the case. Some sects of pure lands Buddhism allow violence for self defense, defense of one's honor or to avenge the harm done to others. Gongen Buddhism allows for violence in general if the motives are pure etc.
