What do you think of NY governor asking republicans to leave the state due to their political affiliation?

Just like Joe Biden told black people that they aren't black if you vote for Trump, the NY governor is now telling new Yorkers that they aren't true new Yorkers if they are republican.

What do you think about that?

I have an idea for what the government should do. You know how they are trying to "forgive" student loans up to $20,000 ($10,000, but it is $20,000 for everyone that qualified for a PELL grant, which is most of them). The people that don't take that handout should be offered the same amount of money if they want to leave their current state.

I think that would actually be very helpful for many Americans. They could afford to move to a state that is more suitable for them. Conservatives could leave places like CA and NY, while liberals could move to those places. The country would be happier as a whole if they had the opportunity to move out of the states that they don't like living in.

I guess that's one way to crash your economy. If millions of citizens exfil then the real estate market will crash, the majority of businesses will close shop, pretty much everyone will be fired, tax revenue will dry up, all basic services will collapse under their own weight, and you'll be left with a bunch of crumbling infrastructure and chaos.

It would leave the state in a worse position than the Great Depression, but other states like Florida would be big winners and basically go into a golden age.

In her speech she was referring to the three Republicans Donald Trump, Lee Zeldin, Marc Molinaro to leave and go to Florida. But we all know that on the inside she wants every republican voter to leave. I'm not surprised. It's totally something she and other Democrats would say.

I have a feeling that the 5.4 million Republicans that she's told to "leave the state. You are not New Yorkers and you are not welcome here" are providing the majority of the tax to the state, if they do up and leave, the state will be bankrupt.

Nearly all of the current territory of New York known as "up state" New York is really just an oppressed political and economic colony of New York City.

Its shocking how poor and undeveloped those regions are as a direct results of the people of the city forcing incompatible with rural conditions domestic laws on them.

They should do like eastern Oregon and pasts of Vermont have already done and vote to become independent or join anther state.

Yup, Eastern Washington State, Eastern Oregon and various other places should become their own states... but liberals love to oppress the minority and IF they had their way would get rid of all representation and just do direct voting. Meaning every person gets to go online and vote if something should pass, that way we get tyranny of the majority and that is how they want it.

@Aerissa_Jade As mentioned before this didn't use to be such a problem as most of our states originally had region protecting State Senates mirroring that of the Federal U. S. Senate in its function to protect the ability of self-governable regions to self-govern by vetoing disadvantageous policy from common governments.

Unfortunate like most of Americans modern problems this key Constitutional feature of our Republican systems of Government was hypocritically abolished by our unaccountable and un-elected federal politicians in black robes in their edict Reynolds v. Sims (1964).

Its worth noting that we came within only a few States of a 2nd constitutional convention to overturn said edict. Unfortunately the key flaw in our Article 5 Convention process is that it takes such time to implement that arbitrary attacks on our Constitutional election systems can be successful before being repealed.

Most Republicans in New York living in upstate New York really would be far better off voting for their region to become independent or join anther State.

The enormous population of the city living in very different urban conditions consistently votes to push their local policies on the rest of the State the vast majority of which is living under very different rural conditions.

They have as a direct result soo oppressed Upstate New York as to render the region an de-developed economic basket case which they are now forced to subsidize. It's always very expensive to force a car to operate under the rules of a boat.

As such Upstate New York and frankly downstate too would be far better off with a political border between them, as the people of New York are too ignorant of their colony and its very different conditions to consistently keep themselfs from oppressing it.

We use to have a concept known as State Senates which would prevent such minority regions from being able to screw over the entire state. But the Federal politicians in black robes hypocritically abolished our Republican system of Government back in Reynolds v. Sims (1964).
