Why most of the people nowadays are following trends? Why can't you be your own trend? And why does it matter?

Most people just want to fit in and be liked and be accepted.


So, they follow what everyone else’s is doing in pursuit of that.


They could totally start their OWN trend, but that would require the risk of standing out, of doing something they don’t KNOW will be accepted, it takes confidence and courage to just do your own thing without worrying about what other people think. It takes a level boldness that most people don’t have.


It’s completely up to them if they want to be the pioneer or innovator or creator of something original. But, it take guts and they need to overcome their fear.

In terms of why does following or starting trends matter, it shouldn’t matter very much. All you get is social media likes for a little bit. Then the trend dies. Then it’s all over. 5 seconds of fame. I suppose it makes them feel special for a short while.

Something that matters more would be not starting a trend but starting a MOVEMENT, but that takes dedication, vision, and leadership.

People like to copy and follow trends to be in the incrowd and be popular, and fit in.

Unfortunately, much of society is made up of sheeple who lack their own ability to choose. Most of them also suffer from low self-esteem and poor, if any, positive role models.
