Lawyers are mandated to prevent disclosure of the truth of their clients crimes. Government lawyers are similarly mandated however their clients include their office, prior office holders, staff and prior staff. Do you see how this mandate affects the justice department? Each subsequent attorney general must not disclose the crimes in their office.

You've got it wrong. Lawyers are not prohibited from telling the truth. In fact, they are bound, legally, morally and per each state's guidelines for lawyers, to tell they truth. The court can hold them in contempt if they are caught lying or not being truthful. Prosecuting attorneys must share information with the defense, and the defense must truthfully respond to any questions from the prosecution... before a trial even begins, as part of the discovery process. What defense lawyers ARE bound to is to do whatever they can to make the prosecuting side prove its case, and that means not revealing information the prosecution doesn't know.

This sounds like that thing you see on tv shows all the time where the guy being defended is a monsterous serial killer or whatever and the lawyer says that knowing the truth will help him do his job but the client need not worry about admitting guilt to his defence lawyer as it is there job to defend them regardless.

Truth as in?
The attorney client privilege doesn't extend to evidence and sometime clients shoot themselves in the foot not realising that all evidence has to be shared even if it hurts their case.

You need to review. RULE 1.6 extends to everything AND EXCUSES FRAUD, FRAUD IN THE FURTHERSNCE AND DENIAL OF VICTIMS RIGHTS AND OROTECTION UNDER THE LAW to maintain nondisclosure. It is included by reference to nearly every other professional rule.

Not American so I need to check your rules but the bar states. "Other law may require that a lawyer disclose information about a client. Whether such a law supersedes Rule 1.6 is a question of law beyond the scope of these Rules. When disclosure of information relating to the representation appears to be required by other law, the lawyer must discuss the matter with the client to the extent required by Rule 1.4. If, however, the other law supersedes this Rule and requires disclosure, paragraph (b)(6) permits the lawyer to make such disclosures as are necessary to comply with the law."
If rule 16 doesn't supersede this then you don't really have "law and order" you have "loyalty and cunning"
