If you own a small business, would you hire a convicted felon on parole?

I did and it worked out alright in the long run, but with a lot of headaches along the way. I'm not so sure I would do it again.

I understand it would depend on the nature of the crime, and that a history of violent or sex crimes would be a no-go. But if someone without a history of serious misconduct makes a one-time bad decision, does the time, and gets paroled, that might make a difference. In the one case where I did hire one, it was the latter. He was the driver for a friend who got killed while committing a robbery; he bought the murder under the felony murder rule.
