If you own a small business, would you hire a convicted felon on parole?

I did and it worked out alright in the long run, but with a lot of headaches along the way. I'm not so sure I would do it again.

I understand it would depend on the nature of the crime, and that a history of violent or sex crimes would be a no-go. But if someone without a history of serious misconduct makes a one-time bad decision, does the time, and gets paroled, that might make a difference. This reminds me of the show based on real life small business “Pitt bulls and paroles”.

She had experience with men from prison though. I think it helps out far more to know the frame-of-mind of someone just released back into society. Understanding and patients.

I couldn't do it myself. It’s not the person, more my own past experiences. I’m looking for leas of these types of chances and more smooth sailing waters here on out.

I really can't... not on my line of work, lol... trust is a must, as well as integrity, we work with valuable so it would be unnecessary risky

and I would be the only responsible for it... placing them in a tempting or vulnerable position, lol...

but, to my specific area and region, crime can be a matter of opportunity, and the actual criminal can "convince" some people to do something for them, so the moment they find out (and they will) that I have an already once, convicted felon... it can make them, and me, a target for it, way too tempting, lol

He really wasn't a problem. He made a bad decision with some ugly consequences for which he was held responsible (the driver for an impromptu robbery in which the robber got killed, so he was held responsible for it), and he owned it. He never made any excuses, and did his time. The two major incidents I had involved the state board, who gladly licensed him as an apprentice but wouldn't even test him when it came time for full licensing because he was a convicted felon. I spent two days of my life in the state capitol making a pest of myself (almost walked into the governor's office) until they realized it was a personal judgment at work and not state law. So I prevailed. The other incident was after he went from having a good parole officer to having one who was the most despicable piece of shit for a human being I have ever met. He barged in one day claiming he had authority to inspect his parolee's workplace, and tried to bully his way into the forbidden prep area. I told him it was a no go and denied him access. It was a pretty ugly scene ending with him getting physically ejected from my building. I came very close to shooting a police officer that day.

yep, that sounds really complicated, and I can relate to some of it...

the difference for me would be that in my region, instead of corrupted people with positions of authority can still be spoken with for the most part, and be put back at their place, like you did

but for me, it could be cartels and then, I just can't do that much against it if they really want something, they will make it happen without a care for the cost or me... lol

so I just have to reduce all risks and possibilities as much as possible

the moment they find out (either cartels or legal authorities) that I am "establishing connections with a convicted felon" they will come knock at my doors and be like "hmm, I thought you were not going to do this... this was not part of our deal"

and, corruption down here is off the charts as well... lol, not as many resources to keep them at bay

I dunno, i think i'd have to hear from them what they did and if they are truly remorseful for it... but if they truly are perfect for what i need then... ill say maybe. they would have to nail the interview though ngl lol

I have a convicted guy in my workplace, he killed his own wife coz she was cheating later filed a fake case on the guy for money he went to her home and shot her dead. He surrendered and was sentence he is out on parole for good behaviour he works in my office and I do realise that all that hate and anger was only directed towards his wife who has hurt him and damaged him beyond repair apart from that he is very normal and not at all agressive even in his words

Yeah I would. Unless they're a peice of shit, then i wouldn't hire them even if they have a clean record. There probably would be extra stuff to do for it which would be a pain but, they're just people. They can work and earn wages.
