Voting for trump didn't become a threat to democracy.
But there was definitely a small portion but very seriously mentally ill group of trump supporters who really wanted him to be president at all costs, and really wanted/wants a civil war.

I've heard the speech, and I thought it was incredibly stupid, but liberals are like that. they're so used to living in echo chambers, that they automatically think that everyone except for the fringe/outliers think like them, have the luxury of being told their view is correct by all media, so they feel secure in criticizing those who don't agree with them. However, simply voting in the midterms isn't going to do a thing. Too many Republicans don't actually stand for anything; so, simply having a majority in congress is worthless.

Well, calling over half of your country a threat it doesn't exactly scream the unity he claims to seek. I am not holding my breath for the midterms though. Put it simply, the speech had double standards that if it were a conservative saying it, it would be seen as tyrannical and calls for removal of office.
I didn’t see the speech. But, I’m 58 and Joe Biden ran in the second presidential election I was able to vote in. He’s a known commodity to me. He was a pathological liar and a fucking idiot long before he went senile. I didn’t realize until more recently that he was also a traitor, crook and pedophile.
THEY'RE a threat to Democracy. They tried to impeach a democrtically elected president simple because they didn't like his policies. They also were against Crimea who had a democratic vote to cecede from Russia.
How ironic. A Democrat talking about someone else destroying democracy. We do not have democracy. Democracy requires an informed populace. You can't have an informed populace when one side controls the dialog, media and flow of information.

When you generalize a group of 70 million people for the actions of a few idiots.. Yeah it hurts the country. The only threat to this democracy... That was over a year ago and most of those people will not vote republican again - as we see with the democrats picking up more seats than republicans.
Democrats did the same thing in 2016. Only they thought they had it in the bag so they didn't object until the votes showed Trump won.
I don't necessarily believe the 2020 election was stolen. But there was some questionable things that happened that I can understand why people think it was.
Personally I think because people were home and not working they got influenced by the news and believed every bad thing they said about Trump. And despite the right trying to warn people what would happen if Biden was elected, people who didn't normally vote just voted to get the evil Trump out. And everything Republicans or conservatives said would happen has happened. And our country is the worse its been in my lifetime under this administration.
People blames Trump for 300,000 people dying of covid under his administration when more died under Biden in less time with a vaccine. Hopefully they she now that Trumps actions had nothing to do with those people dying. Florida proved we shouldn't have kept people from working or school for so long.
I wouldn't consider myself Maga. I think extremism on the left and right are responsible for us being divided. But if I had to choose Biden or Trump, you can bet I'll vote for Trumps America where my family wasn't struggling to pay our bills and keep food in our house, when we had money to do fun family things together, over Bidens America where we have to decide what bills we can put off just to afford groceries for the week. I'm f'cking pissed. I knew better. Because the last time I struggled so bad was during the Obama administration when everything was inflated then too.

I don't excuse the people who rioted at the Capital. But when Democrats were excusing blm riots and ANTIFA riots for months and egging them on causing a lot of deaths, injuries, and destruction of people's buisness's and police precincts It's a wonder why the people on 1/6 figured that it was okay.
