My thoughts are that you shouldn't be going to jail for smoking pot. HOWEVER, unlike the majority of Americans... I think the law should THROW THE BOOK at drug dealers; they are sociopathic, remorseless, disgusting creatures that deserve to be put down. If you have ever been the family member of someone with severe drug addiction... drug dealers are the worse. They are preying upon and exploiting your loved one and do not care if they kill them with their greed. They are low forms of human life and they need to rot in jail, contrary to liberals assertions they shouldn't get much time in jail as it is a "non-violent offense". (My ass)... They are killing millions of Americans every year in the US.

I was just recently having a conversation with someone where we agreed that prison should be reserved only for people who are dangers to society. Murderers, rapists, pyromaniacs, maybe even robbers, who have been examined by a psychologist, and it's been determined that they are very likely to continue commiting harmful crimes, and they're not able to be rehabilitated.

So no, I don't think someone should be jailed for smoking weed. Not only because I don't think weed should be illegal in the first place, but also because someone smoking weed is causing no one any harm, so it's a complete misuse of prison to lock up that person.

The problem with certain substances comes from how much they consume. If you drink a glass of wine when you eat, there is no problem if you drink a bottle of wine on an empty stomach. You are probably an alcoholic.
Same thing if you smoke one-off weed, there is no problem. If you smoke 10 times a day, you are a drug addict.
Prison is not something that makes you consider not to abuse something. If you want to reduce the phenomenon, give free and compulsory psychological support to people with certain problems. It is certainly less expensive than prison and has fewer unpleasant social effects. Those who have been in prison also have enormous problems with social reintegration.

Totally legal where I am. People that smoke up or have edibles aren’t going to go pick fights with people or get into a car accident and be violent. CBD oil is totally harmless yet very helpful for people especially with epilepsy.

Only people against it are pharmaceutical companies they’d rather you be indebted on synthetic opioids not something you can grow in your yard

The only reason people think weed is dangerous is Nixon's War on Drugs and propaganda. And all that was just because Nixon was racist.

Weed is legal in many states, and legal in several countries. America should expunge all weed charges, pay reparations, and also reserve business licenses and grants for Black community members who wish to start weed businesses.

The Grass is Greener on Netflix is a wonderful documentary about the history of the War on Drugs, its racist roots, and the way it was used to destroy Black communities in America. And still is to this day.

Absolutely not. I know someone who is serving 15 years because he was in a vehicle with a friend who had a bag in his pocket. It was a third strike.

I think it should be largely decriminalized. Maybe if it's over a certain amount. So you know it's intent to distribute. But I don't think it should be a very long sentence.
