As a Brit. Also a Republican (No not the crazy American kind). I don't care much for the monarchy.

That said, she worked during the war and for a future Queen, actually not only served as an Ambulance driver but is also a qualified mechanic. She could strip down a car and rebuild it. So as future head of state, she did her bit.

Fuck knows. She had bad timing, now the government has to print and melt new currency and I don't want to even think about the 'national mourning'.

No, it's not fair, but it's fairly common for a spouse to pass away shortly after their spouse passes away. I worked with a guy who had a heart attack and died just six months after his wife died; there was no sign of that happening, he was healthy.

I am from the UK but have never been a monarchist. I also believe that the royal family aren't as "saintly" as many people are lead to believe. So as bad as it sounds, I just don't care.

I barely know anything about her because it's not my interest. It's cool that she made it to 96 though. Life expectancy was much lower back in the day.
