i don't really like the term 'African American' and i'm saying this as a non-american so my opinion doesn't really matter anyways and maybe i don't even understand it. But just to label all black americans as 'african-americans' is so stupid because there are many black people who've lived in america for so long that they have little African culture and links to africa, or there are just black people who aren't even from africa and then there are black, white or Asian people FROM africa who would more rightfully be labelled as 'African American'. Just doesn't make much sense to me
