I'm a republican but enough is enough. Yes both things can be true. The FBI could be corrupt and Trump could also be completely out of line and doing things clearly against the law. He was knowingly holding onto documents that were not his and that were classified as 'top secret'. They had people's names in them who sacrificed their LIVES to help America. Trump did not care and instead was reckless with their lives in doing whatever he wanted to do. He didn't care and put his middle finger up to the government. I don't care if Biden is in power; Trump acted completely entitled and it jeopardized ALL of our safety. He doesn't care about anyone but himself. in 2016 I admit he began by caring about Americans... but now he only cares about himself. he even threw IVANKA his own daughter under the bus in a statement. He didn't care that Mike Pence and his family was being threatened. He only cared about winning. Pence was loyal to him the entire time; yet Trump didn't care. No one is above the law; the DOJ was patient with him and he kept LYING to them.

FBI isn't pure and 100% upstanding, that's for sure, but I don't see anything wrong with how they're approaching Trump's unlawful retention of classified (and more) documents.

Trump had several occasions to hand over everything and avoid a raid. Instead, he had his lawyers lie, divulged only a portion of what he had, and tried to hide the rest.

The FBI is only doing what it is supposed to be doing. Investigating.

Now, if they could also investigate Wall Street with the same detail (and a bit more speed), that'd be great.

That the FBI has a history of demonstrating such effectively unaccountable abuses since their first directory J. Edgar Hoover famously used them to blackmail and marginalize his political enemies only illustrates the more minor concerns they had for such.

It seems now that they have given all future presidents a compelling reasons to refuse to become former presidents in allowing hostile successor to threaten them, we may soon enough see the main concern they had for such an domestic organization.

First of all, he’s an ex-president. He no longer has clearance to be in possession of sensitive documents. Presidents are not screened for security clearance. Their access to classified and top secret information is tied directly to their election. Once out of office, it’s gone. He’s completely bogus here. You can't make a declassified document classified again, or every president could throw anyone they want in jail by simply classifying whatever they have.
Trump's doesn't need a clearance to have non-classified non-national security no longer even goverment documents. FYI you can lose your security clearance regardless of having been screened. So once again your not making any sense.

There is something called the presidential records act which disagrees with Trumps possession of said records.
