England did some bad things in the past, for sure. It's obvious if you look at the opium war where the colonial powers of Europe fought the Chinese because they were against the Chinese law that banned opium. They wanted the right to sell opium to the Chinese. This was after opium use was banned in England because it was recognized as being too destructive,

But that's the past.

A lot of people in countries that were colonies of England, say they respect the Queen because when colonialism ended she went out of her way to show them respect and to support treating them all the right way & that if she hadn't have done that there would be a lot of hatred. Also it was England that fought hard to end slavery, intercepting slave ships at sea, long before the U. S. ended slavery.
