N95 is rated to stop 95% of particles larger than 30 nm. Covid19 is between 50-140 nm. N95 masks are as such rated to stop Covid19. It also does not mean that N95 masks has a zero percent chance to stop particles that is smaller than 30 nm just that the protection is not guaranteed and the percentage is probably lower than 95%.

Regarding the risk of vaccinations, while we are still monitoring the side effects we at least know that the risk for heart issues after the covid vaccine is much lower than 1% to the point where researchers are struggling to find cases, much less attempt to confirm if it was the vaccine which did it or some other cause.

First of all, the viruses usually sticks to something as they travel in air which makes them much larger than the virus itself. Secondly the N95 mask is not like a net. It does not stop things larger than what its rated for and let everything else through the holes.

We can't easily make a mask with holes that small so we use another strategy. Instead of having just one "net" we have layers upon layers of nets that overlap. This makes the mask more like a maze and why there is a percentage chance that something makes it through rather than an absolute "yes/no". This same maze strategy also works on particles that are smaller but at different efficiency.

And yes I do know that correctly fitting a N95 mask is difficulty, if unrealistic for average people. Does not change that they are rated for covid19.
