Is the treatment of royals insane?

I feel like it's still engrained in some peoples minds that royals are just better than regular people. I heard about someone from a friend in the UK who has stage 4 cancer and their chemo therapy got delayed because of the mourning period and they can't get another appointment for 2 months because they're fully booked so they're literally killing this woman for tradition and appearances. It's the 6th richest country in the world by GDP. They can't isolate their houses, many people are close to starvation and death. These people get applauded for just existing. I wouldn't mind it in isolation but the treatment of the regular people just makes it seem like a joke.

I'd question that wait for treatment if I was her. Tell her to check the NHS guidelines on treatment times for cancer. She does have the right to be sent to a different hospital
As for the royals outside major events like this they don't really cause a disturbance. Figures for how much they cost seem to vary from 80-10 million a year. Allegedly this works out at £1.30 per year in tax. How much they bring in to the country is debatable figures typically range 17-20 billion but some estimates go a lot lower.
The big problem is actually calculating the figures. Sure they bring in tourists but in reality how many really come here because of them. Technically speaking a trip to the beach could count as all beaches are crown property. Money brought in through Royal diplomacy to secure trade deals, contracts etc is again hard to calculate and figures vary widely.

The reality is the UKs problems mostly stem from successive governments being too focused on South East England and pushing a low wage economy elsewhere.

Yes I agree I didn't want to blame the royals for the trouble that the government has created but I do think the power that certain thing have in peoples minds like tradition is amazing if you look at it from a different perspective.

I am in two minds about this, because I understand that some people are actually upset about the loss of the Queen, she was a public figurehead for most of everyone's lives (mine for sure). So I understand people being allowed the day to mourn the death and watch the funeral. HOWEVER, I think it's sad to mess around with peoples health, they should be able to find alternative appointments for these people the following day, not 2 months later - that being said, the NHS is severely understaffed. I think they should allow the people who don't care for the Queen to work so at least some people can be seen, with an incentive though.

Yes. Yes, it is. Democracy doesn't just mean "everybody gets a vote", it means "everyone is equal under the law". Obviously, it rarely works out perfectly, but this is the reason I say that the opposite of democracy isn't tyranny, but royalty- putting people in a separate class, with preferential treatment, because of accidents of birth is exactly the kind of nonsense the world should be PAST by now.

Yeah that's nothing new with regards to the NHS. Things at hospitals were bad before covid, now they're way worse and that's nothing to do with the royal family. They still have you wearing masks in hospitals and limiting doctors appointments etc.

I think you're absolutely right. I really don't understand how come some people don't realize that they're also human beings. They're not superior, they can get sick, they have flaws, and they will die someday. They're not gods and goddesses that must be praised.

Today I heard a British woman on TV saying that she never thought that the queen would die. She said she thought the queen was invincible. How can you not grasp that she would die one day because she was a human being? 🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

Those people that live them cherish them are a huge part of the problem. These total families are like the dumb Kardashians. Like why was there a huge lineup of people who wanted to say goodbye. Hello! They don't care about you, they don't even know who you are. I think it's the type if people that watch too many Disney movies. King's and queens should not exist anymore.

It is. I don't give two flying ducks about the royal family, I don't know why anyone else does. They don't even hold any real political power anymore, they're just kinda there. 😂

Nope. The treatment of royals are completely historically and culturally rooted and does immense good for a country.
