Your thoughts on the future of the ukraine war?

ukraine retook a bit of land and everyone celebrates, its too early to do that.

As someone who has followed this conflict since the start, and also predicted a whole bunch of things, yes its over. It was over after the first few weeks. This Ukrainian counter offensive is just another nail in the coffin. The Russian army in Ukraine is heavily outnumbered and suffers severe lack of training, equipment, support and morale.

While the Ukrainians are at a disadvantage they at least started wartime mobilization since the start and is well on the way to fielding an army of as many millions as they want with as good training as they want and equipped with NATO equipment. The Russians can barely hold on where as the Ukrainians can pick and choose where to put their troops to do the next counter attack.

Furthermore there is the situation in Kherson which the Russians stupidly decided to defend when it has become a complete liability. Normally it is the defender who has an advantage in combat but in Kherson the Russians are unable to supply their troops or provide support of pretty much any kind. This allows the Ukrainians to systematically destroy the very large contingent of Russias army stationed there.

Where the counter attack in the north took over vast territories and equipment but left most of the Russian army intact, the opposite is true in the south which will possibly destroy several thousands of Russian troops in a pointless defense that they are going to lose anyways.

Meanwhile in Russia the economy is going down the toilet and Putin is suffering political defeats which risks him being removed from power. There is also other countries looking to backstab Russia while it is weak and busy in Ukraine and quite frankly this might be the end of Russia as a country as it splits up like the Soviet Union did before it.

The Russian army is principally geared up for a one on one with nato. So why can't they handle one small country? I can't help feeling there's a quite a bit betrayal going on we won't hear about until after the war.
